Tell Me a Riddle (1980)

Lee Grant directs this adaptation of a Tillie Olsen novel about an elderly couple (Melvyn Douglas and Lila Kodrova) who can't live with and won't live without each other. She retreats to the past, and he takes to the road to visit their children and grandchildren. At times stilted, at other times moving, Tell Me A Riddle challenges the viewer to face up to the pains and rewards of old age.
