"23.6. Toinen katselukerta. Malliesimerkki siitä, miten haastava elokuva ei ole vain premissinsä, tai kuinka ei kompastuta omaan nokkeluuteensa. Jännittävä, saumaton ja upea."

Slant's 100 Best Sci-Fi Movies of All Time (100 movies items)

"Shane Carruth’s low-budget Primer is a marvel of plotting, a neatly enfolded set of turns and reversals based in cinema’s most internally consistent theory of the cascading paradoxes of time travel. Aaron (Carruth) and Abe (David Sullivan), two small-time engineers, accidentally invent a device that loops time. When the device is activated, it effectively becomes a portal to the moment in time it was switched on, as long as the prospective traveler waits for an entire cycle. Soon, both of th"

The Top 40 Sci-Fi Movies of the 21st Century (40 movies items)

"Shane Carruth's 2004 mind-bender was made on the cheap – reportedly just $7,000 – though this little film doesn't shy away from asking big questions: the philosophical implications of tampering with time, the weighty responsibilities of playing God, and, if you'll indulge us for a second, what the heck is happening? From its tech-heavy dialogue to the loop-the-loop storyline (so complex it requires a chart to comprehend), Primer is the rare film that makes no attempt to pander to its audienc"

“It's not a new concept to the science fiction genre, but this time travel film is by far the best at creating a sense of believability through its doc”

“[English Version]

Primer is a 2004 film written, directed, produced and acted by Shane Carruth. Tells the story of Four men work in a garage building highly complex appliances. Part by accident and part by design, they discover a mechanism with powers that allows them to get practically everything they want: A Time Travel Machine.

Now, some of you would think that's going to be another of those works which use time-travel like a cheap way of solving everything, and those having no tension or consistency whatsover (Examples: Mirrai Nikki, Dragon Ball Super, Looper, Kimi no Nawa, etc), but, this movie is not the case.

For started, It is noticeable that Shane Carruth was someone dedicated in the project to see not only his contribution in direction and writing,” read more
