"Location, location, location: Real estate edition. Building a house, or houses near or on top, of a cursed place, or a sacred place, is a bad idea."
"This wasn't as bad as I was expecting and they had changed enough that it didn't feel totally unnecessary remake. The acting is pretty good. The original felt creepier because the house and the toys etc. looked normal. In this every looks like a horror prop. Especially the clown toys... Also, that squirrel was just laughable."
" Directed by: Gil Kenan ('Monster House', 'City of Ember') With: Sam Rockwell Was the original - Poltergeist (1982) - worth a look? Even though Tobe Hooper had some major success with 'The Texas Chainsaw massacre', his following features never had much critical or financial success. The only exception would be this feature but many argue that this movie belongs to Spielberg. But how was it eventually? It was not bad at all but I can't say I was really blown away by the whole thing. Of cours"

"October 13 Extra: So many people have bashed this movie, but I found it enjoyable and, in some parts, superior to the original. The dialogue was a little cheesy and the characters got to be annoying sometimes, but I really liked the portrayal of the "other side." Maddie was also a cute kid and she played her part well. I also liked that technological advancements over the last 30 years brought new angles to the movie with the use of drones and tablets. FAVORITE SCENE: Maddie gets dragged upstai"
"OCTOBER 22: I didn't think anyone could hold a candle to Heather O'Rourke's performance in the original, but Kennedi Clements did a fantastic job. A lot of people hated this remake, but I thought it was a pretty decent movie, utilizing the advancements in technology to tell the story. FAVORITE SCENE: The bits and pieces we see of the "Other Side" when Griffin goes after Maddie. FAVORITE DEATH: No deaths...?"
"Watched: 03/03/16 I've never seen the original film, so I may be coming from a weird place, but a lot of things bothered me about this movie. The tree, the endless closet, the entire second half, the first paranormal investigator thinking the family has created a hoax story just one scene after he witnessed the poltergeist in action...I mean, seriously? This movie just felt so unrealistic, to the point where I couldn't enjoy it very much. It's also far too fast paced for my liking, and I didn't"
