Ouija: Origin of Evil update feed
" DVD- 1hr. 39min. First Viewing Ouija: Origin of Evil is possibly one of the most surprisingly good films that I've seen in a while. It's not a great movie, but it's very well made, and it's holds you're attention from beginning to end. It's a triumph of craft above all else; director Mike Flanagan brings really fright to this thing, and not relying too heavily on tropes (they're here, but they aren't used as a crutch). The ending is a bit of a downer, too beholden to its franchise to sketch out"
"I once bought a oiuja board at a garage sale. After I brought it home, I decided to try it out to since if it really worked, especially considering that I was never one to believe in the supernatural. I started out by asking "Are there any spirits there?" That thingamajig that slides across the board slid over the the "Yes" answer. Since I wasn't really expecting any kind of a response, I was taken somewhat aback, and asked it the first question that popped into my head. "Uhhh..." I mumbled "..."
"Follow the rules. Some games, have rules for a pretty damn good reason. So follow them. Also, Ouija boards shouldn't be mess with."
"Que triste que el problema mas grave de tu pelicula es que sea genérica y aburrida, en una epoca donde todo el cine de terror esta inundado de esto; Simplemente decepcionante."
"During the family's seances, all 3 board rules were violated: family members played alone, a graveyard was involved, and "goodbye" was never uttered. "Ouija" is a trademark of Hasbro, Inc. but is often used as a generic term for any talking board. There are different theories for where the name came from. Two very popular theories are that the board itself told its creator what to name it, and the creator came up with the name after combining the French and German words for "yes" - oui and ja."

"If you told me they were making a prequel to one of the worst studio-horror films of the last few years I would not get very excited for it. Ouija was shit on a level we aren't used to anymore. Usually when a big budget bad horror movie comes out it's bad because it's a convoluted or uninspired mess. Ouija was both but it was also so incompetent that it just felt really weird they pushed it out without any reshoots or re-edits or... Well, I guess they didn't have to pour any more money into that"

" FAVORITE DEATH: The psychiatric doctor (he doesn't actually die on-screen, but it's definitely implied)"
"I liked the the film-making in this movie quite much. It had some creepy scenes too. The little girl was the creepiest thing in this. "
