" 2021 Director: Paul Greengrass His 13th movie My 7th movie watched from the director Hanks never fucking fails. I love that he is doing a western. I love that there are still good westerns to be made. I love that it's sort of a new kind of western. Greengrass proves he has range and is so disciplined here. The young actress also does a worthy job. Added to Lists: Best Westerns Top Ten Films - Paul Greengrass Tom Hanks Never Fails The Commanding Roles of Tom Hanks __________ Locatio"

"Format: Blu-Ray Viewing: 1st Thoughts: I'm a sucker for Hanks and I found this to be a fairly solid and enjoyable Western. Nice to see him working with a child actor again, kind of reminded me of Road To Perdition. The story is pretty simple, Captain Kidd (a kind of news reporter of his day) finds a lost child and is tasked with taking the perilous journey of bringing her back home. The young German actress who plays Johanna has this other-worldly look about her, and she was absolutely fantastic"

2021 Oscar Predictions (20 movies items)

"1.Erik Messerschmidt- MankLock. Will compete with #2 for the win. 2.Joshua James Richards- Nomadland 3.Dariusz Wolski- News of the WorldAfter the first two, there are a number of ways that this category could go. Of them, Wolski seems the safest. News is a sparse, sun-drenched western that checks most boxes for this category. Only ASC nominee, outside of the ones above, that seem safe. 4.Phedon Papamichael- The Trial of the Chicago 7A fairly surprising contender here that, nevertheless, scor"

" Notes: To be honest, I took me a while to get into this movie and I guess it mostly had to with the fact that the plot was actually really generic and predictable. And, yet, it still managed to grab me at some point. Indeed, even if it wasn’t the darkest Western I have seen, the tone was still quite sad and I think that’s why the two main characters eventually bonded, not necessarily because they were kind to one and another but because they shared a deep sorrow. What made this even more i"

A good movie

“I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I always had a weak spot for Paul Greengrass’s work and since this movie had been rather well received, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, to be honest, I took me a while to get into this movie and I guess it mostly had to with the fact that the plot was actually really generic and predictable. And, yet, it still managed to grab me at some point. Indeed, even if it wasn’t the darkest Western I have seen, the tone was still quite sad and I think that’s why the two main characters eventually bonded, not necessarily because they were kind to one and another but because they shared a deep sorrow. What made this even more interesting was that their pain and sorrow actually echoed the pain and sorrow experienced by the w” read more
