"24/8/17 Joe Orton's notorious play is brought to the screen with Peter McEnery as an amoral stranger who manipulates the people who allow him to stay with them, even though one knows a dark secret about him. Very late 60's in style, this still manages to push the boundaries and at the time was extremely controversial about Sloane's sexuality. Beryl Reid and Harry Andrews are terrific support."
"This adaptation of Joe Orton's play is about a three-way affair between an elderly brother and sister with Mr. Sloane who charms them both with his good looks and apparently bisexual leanings. It's certainly not the usual fare one expected in the 70's especially in the UK anyway. It's controversial and has gained quite a cult status because of it's black comedy. It didn't really do anything for me - perhaps it was too weird for my liking though I can't fault the acting of the three main leads. "
