Alan Wake - Xbox 360
Criminally underrated game. I love the atmosphere and usage of light, not to mention the Pacific Northwest setting (it's where I'm from). I hope we get a true Alan Wake 2 someday.
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts - Xbox 360
One of those big disappointments unfortunately. Banjo fans waited about a decade to see "Threeie" only to be crushed by this debacle. It's not a horrible game (I would say it's actually a great idea) but it just isn't a good Banjo game.

Batman: Arkham City - Xbox 360
Love this game to death. Haven't played Arkham Asylum unfortunately but I had to check this game out just due to the hype alone - I was not disappointed. It really captured the feel of Batman such as detective work, stealth, and general combat. Plus it was a magnificent send off to the Joker.
Bayonetta - Xbox 360
Kamiya managed to outdo his work on Devil May Cry, creating a game that - in my humble opinion - is superior in almost every way. It's great that we are finally getting Bayonetta 2 via the Wii-U.
Blue Dragon - Xbox 360
The amount of hype surrounding Sakaguichi's return to RPGs couldn't salvage this title for me unfortunately. It's a good game, but I'd say it could and should have been better. Even Uematsu's soundtrack left a lot to be desired.
