More of a 'pure' war movie with some great action scenes based on The Battle of Ia Drang. Good film, but the war cliches are laid on a bit too thick.

More of a political Vietnam war movie that shows the experiances of a young man who served in Vietnam and how the aftermath changed his life and political views forever.

Rescue Dawn (2006)

Christian Bale plays a US fighter Pilot who is shot down over Vietnam and attempts an escape. Based on a true story. Bale is excellent, a suprisingly little known movie that is well worth checking out.

Casualties of War (1989)

Michael J. Fox plays a soldier who is put into an awful predicament in which four of his squad mates rape a vietnamese girl. He however refuses, making his life very difficult. A film not everyone seems to enjoy, I personally really enjoyed this one, based on a true story also.

Danger Close (2019)

This film is focussed around the often overlooked involvement of the Australian/ANZAC forces in Vietnam and is a very solid action-packed Vietnam war movie based around the stories of real men.

Tigerland (2000) (2001)

Focusses on the trainnig leading up to Vietnam and a relectant recruit played by Colin Farrell, who dispite wanting nothing to do with the army, has standout leadership skills in his ability to make people follow his cause. I enjoyed this one, worth a look.

84C MoPic (1989)...

This film is smarty made, with all shots being taken from a Vietnam cameramans perspective. Considering the low budget this is a very entertaining and gritty watch, giving a whole new perspective to warfare in the Vietnam jungle.

A little known Vietnam film based on a true story. The story follows two soldiers that look to rebuild the moral and defences of a broken down firebase.

Burt Lancaster puts in a standout performance as a US officer who is assigned a meagar squad to defend a small hamilit called Muc wa.

Follows the story of a Platoon that helped in the taking of what was nicknamed Hamburger Hill. Nothing special in my opinion, but a solid flick.

It's in no real order other than the obvious 'Big Four' at the top.

Any suggestions are welcome.
