Suits of Spandex: The Best and Worst

#1 Boukenger / Power Rangers Operation Overdrive

Reason: I love these suits. Just the right amount of white and color, cool silver accents, and a logo that doesn't feel out of place.

#2 GoGoFive / Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue

Reason: Believe it or not, but these suits were one of my least favorites at one point. However, I've come to realize just how nice looking they are. And adding/removing boobs for genderswaps is pretty much a non-issue.

#3 Zyuranger / Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Reason: This has nothing to do with the fact that they were the first suits I was introduced to. They really are nice suits. Just enough white, not too much color.

#4 Maskman

Reason: I don't care that the girls have earrings, they just look like really nice suits. They're timeless.

#5 Gekiranger (Kageki) / Power Rangers Jungle Fury (Jungle Master Mode)

Reason: Not only are girls without belts awesome, but they made guys without belts awesome, too. There's just enough color, without it getting washed away by white, and the jets aren't huge and fit within the original design.

#6 Go-busters

Reason: A full team of pleather, guys! Not just one or two extra heroes, but a full team! They also look so sleek that I didn't realize that the front "zipper" is just for show and that they still have the standard back zipper just like every other suit.

#7 Abaranger / Power Rangers Dino Thunder

Reason: The suits are balanced out by just enough white that the colors aren't too overpowering, and the gold accents give it that final stamp of approval.
Although, it is a bit jarring that Yellow is the only Ranger with black outlining her diamonds, but not enough to detract from how good looking they all are because it becomes less noticeable when all five are together.

#6 (Super) Goseiger / Power Rangers (Ultra) Megaforce

Reason: I don't mind the gumball staves, but WHY DO YOU NEED GIANT HEADS STICKING OUT OF YOUR CHEST?

#5 Changeman

Reason: Not only does the entire team get sports bras, but the girls also get faux-underwear. The dated helmets and "buttons" don't make it any better.

#4 Turboranger

Reason: I know it was the 80s, but c'mon. The "T" looks awkward on it's own, but then you draw even more attention to it by putting a giant button in the corner. And the helmets don't help much either.

#3 Gokaiger / Power Rangers Super Megaforce

Reason: It looks like the guys need to put on some damn pants. That, and I know fandom gets upset when you say that "pirates are scary", but they honestly look more like an evil team than the heroes. They just really overdid it with the black, multiple "skull and crossbones" logos and "crying" visors.

#2 Dark Rangers

Reason: They had no budget, but at least they tried.

#1 Gingaman / Power Rangers Lost Galaxy

Reason: The helmets are the worst things I've ever seen. The white on the chest cuts off before both the neck AND waist. The white fabric goes all the way around the body, but the zigzags don't, which is just odd.

#1 Gekiranger / Power Rangers Jungle Fury (Yellow)

Reason: Female suits look so much better without belts. Every female suit should be beltless (as long as there's not a full chest logo like GoGoFive).

#2 Ninninger / Power Rangers Ninja Steel (White)

Reason: I love contrasting leggings on girls, and the Gekiranger-style boots plus thigh high stockings are a nice touch. And if you're gonna give the White Ranger pink accents, this is the way it should be done.
Ideally, I should also like Pink and Green, but the stockings are actually boot-colored and not Ranger-colored, which just looks awkward on a non-White suit.

#3 Magiranger (Legend) / Power Rangers Mystic Force (Legend Mode) (Blue)

Reason: This suit is almost like a proto-Shiro Ninger in Blue and done quite well.
We've got white boots and gloves, which I love, and I didn't think I'd be as head over heels for short boots as I have become.

#4 Abaranger / Power Rangers Dino Thunder (Black)

Reason: I really like the color combination, and the helmet looks really sleek, with only a gold outline to figure out where the visor is.

#5 Go-onger / Power Rangers R.P.M. (Silver)

Reason: The color combination is very visually appealing, and the hero suit (as opposed to the stunt suit) is PLEATHER!

#6 Dairanger (Pink)

Reason: I love the skirted Dairanger suits so much. They should have just made the entire team girls because the skirt is so unique and makes the suits look gorgeous.

#7 Hurricaneger / Power Rangers Ninja Storm (Blue)

Reason: I love how the blue plays off of the silver and gold accents. Ideally, I like this one more than the default Magi Blue suit, but I HATE the colored shorts under the skirt. It makes it look like you're getting a panty shot. Stop that crap.

#8 Hurricaneger / Power Rangers Ninja Storm (Kuwaga/Navy)

Reason: I love how the blue plays off of the silver and gold accents.

#5 Timeranger / Power Rangers Time Force (Yellow)

Reason: It looks INCREDIBLY awkward gender-swapped in American footage. It's so bad. The worst offender in that regard. You could have avoided this by just making Blue female, Saban!

#4 Megaranger / Power Rangers in Space (Yellow)

Reason: Yellow accents on a Yellow Ranger do not work, the skirt does not offer anything new visually, and it really doesn't hide the male figure of the stuntmen like other suits do.

#3 Carranger / Power Rangers Turbo (Yellow)

Reason: Yellow accents on a Yellow Ranger do not work. That, and even when girls are actually in the Carranger suits, they still look boy-ish. And the skirt really does not offer anything new visually when compared to the guys.

#2 Shinkenger / Power Rangers Samurai (Gold)

Reason: Who the heck thought that blue accents on gold actually looked good? Especially when compared to the rest of the team's sleek black.

#1 Battle Fever J (Miss America)

Reason: Okay, I don't actually mind the leotard, but SHE HAS HAIR! ACTUAL HAIR! That face peers into my soul and is the thing of my nightmares.
