Riviera Paradise - Stevie Ray Vaughan
This song is performed by Stevie Ray Vaughan and appears on the album In Step (1989) This is a soulful instrumental. After a full day of recording material for the album, Stevie asked his producer to leave the tape running and to turn down the lights. All alone, he recorded the guitar track on his Fender Strat. Double Trouble added the backing later, including an organ foundation from Reese Wynans.

Commit Some Crime - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Lyrics:
I'm leavin' you woman
Before I commit some crime
I'm leavin' you woman
Before I commit some crime
You tried so hard to kill me darlin'
But baby it was not my time
You put poison in my coffee
Instead of milk and cream
You poison my coffee
Instead of that milk and cream
You the meanest woman
I think I've most ever seen
You mix my drink
With a can of Red Devil dye
You mix my drink
With a can of Red Devil dye
Then you sit right down
Watchin' me, hopin' I might die
You better keep watchin' me baby
'Cause darlin it was not my time
You better keep watchin' me baby
'Cause baby might be your time
Just might be your time

Superstition - Stevie Ray Vaughn
This is a Stevie Wonder cover with Stevie Ray doing all of the keyboards in the original on #1. I included two video's here, one live and the other the MTV version. I like both.
or the alternate video that appeared on MTV
Lyrics:
Very superstitious
Writing on the wall
Very superstitious
Ladder's 'bout to fall
Thirteen month old baby
Broke that looking glass
Seven years of bad luck
Good things in the past
When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way
Very superstitious
Wash your face and hands
Rid me of the problem
Get all that you can
Keep me in a daydream
Keep me going strong
You don't want to save me
Sad is my song
When you believe in things that you don't understand
Then you suffer
Superstition ain't the way
Very superstitious
Nothing more to say
Very superstitious
Devil's on his way
Thirteen month old baby
Broke that looking glass
Seven years of bad luck
Good things in the past
When you believe in things that you don't understand
You will suffer
Superstition ain't the way

Strevie Ray's cover of the Hendrix classic, which he called "Voodoo Chile"
Lyrics:
Well I'm standin' next to a mountain....
Choppin' down with the edge of my hand
Well I'm standin' next to a mountain....
Choppin' down with the edge of my hand
Pick up the pieces, make an island....
Might even raise a little sand
Cause I'm a voodoo chile....
Lord knows I'm a voodoo chile
I didn't mean to take up all your sweet time
Give it right back to you....
One of these days
I didn't mean to take up all your sweet time
Give it right back to you....
The rest of my days
I won't see you again in this world....
See ya in the next one
Don't be late....
Don't be late
Cause I'm a voodoo chile yeah....
Lord knows I'm a voodoo chile

Mary Had A Little Lamb - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Lyrics:
Mary had a little lamb
His fleece was black as coal, yeah
And everywhere the child went
That little lamb was sure to go now.
He followed her to school one day
Which broke the teachers cool
But what a time did they have
That day at school.
Tisket! Tasket! baby
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to by baby
And on my way I past it.
Express myself.

Cold Shot - Stevie Ray Vaughan
The studio version
or the MTV version
Lyrics:
Once was a sweet thing, baby
Held that love in our hands
But now I reach to kiss your lips
It just don't mean a thing
And that's a cold shot, baby
Yeah that's a drag
A cold shot, babe
I've let our love go bad
Remember the way that you loved me
Do anything I say
Now I see you out somewhere
You won't give me the time of day
And that's a cold shot, girl
Yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot, babe
We've let our love go bad
I really meant I was sorry
For ever causing you pain
You showed your appreciation
By walking out anyway
And that's a cold shot, baby
Yeah that's a drag
That's a cold shot, babe
We've let our love go bad
So sad...
Too bad...
So sad...
[spoken] Don't let our true love run cold

Texas Flood - Stevie Ray Vaughan
Lyrics:
Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
Well there's floodin' down in Texas
All of the telephone lines are down
And I've been tryin' to call my baby
Lord and I can't get a single sound
Well dark clouds are rollin' in
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Well dark clouds are rollin' in
Man I'm standin' out in the rain
Yeah flood water keep a rollin'
Man it's about to drive poor me insane
Well I'm leavin' you baby
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well I'm leavin' you baby
Lord and I'm goin' back home to stay
Well back home are no floods or tornados
Baby and the sun shines every day

In order of preference, my favorite Stevie Ray songs/videos. Stevie Ray and the Double Trouble are another of the musical groups that, if you were to ask, would define me.
Each song has the video included with the list for your convenience. I encourage anyone not familiar with Thorogood to watch a few. If you would like to vote for the video (I wouldn't mind the points, especially since some of our more elitist members consider me a points whore) you can follow the song link back to the actual page and vote the video there. :D
