"I Don't Care Anymore" was a song I came across early on when I was first really discovering Phil's music. It was in November 2006 that I first heard this amazing track. I watched the music video for it at my local library back when I used to bomb around on YouTube there,(before they blocked it). I can recall one afternoon listening to it over and over...I must have listened to it at least 10 times back to back. One video I came across for it was a rather emo video though that I kind of watched and made the song into this not caring anymore about life song...which it isn't, but at the time I was going through a time of feeling pretty sad and this song backed by that video struck me hard and it made me cry there at my desk there at the library. It later inspired an idea for a story I would like to pursue at some point. Anyway, this is a powerful track that I listen to every now and again. My personal fave of Phil's songs off of my fave album of his...'Hello, I Must Be Going!'.

Duchess (Single) - Genesis_III
"Duchess" moved me to tears late one night in May 2007. It was shortly before I graduated from high school. I was sat down in my living room watching the Genesis: Video Show DVD and watched the video for this. It just moved me. I was in a bit of a reflective mood that night thinking back on my years in school and the choices I'd made that lead me to where I was currently in my life at that point.

MAMA (Single) - Genesis_III
"MAMA" was a song that made me cry due to the sheer emotion of the music. Tony Banks' keyboards really did it for me with this one. I was sat down watching the music video for it on YouTube during June 2007. Everyone was asleep and I must have watched the video a good few times and went back and listened to my favorite section a few times too. The part where Phil laughs followed by the keyboard and guitar bits were just powerful to me. Great track.

Shipwrecked (Single) - Genesis_III
"Shipwrecked" made me cry when I was going through a time of not knowing where I was headed and not sure of what was going to happen. I felt as the lyrics state, "Helpless and alone...drifting out to sea". That was in early September 2007.

Don't Give Up (Single) - Peter Gabriel, Kate Bush
"Don't Give Up" was a song that I also listened to back in early September 2007 during the same time as "Shipwrecked". It was at this time that I first began to listen to Peter Gabriel's solo career from his compilation album 'HIT'.

No Son of Mine (Single) - Genesis_III
"No Son of Mine" moved me to tears by the lyrics, music and the video. I could connect with the song in some ways sad to say.

We Can't Dance - Genesis_III
"Fading Lights" brought me to tears by the power of the lyrics and music. It was a really reflective piece of music written by Tony Banks that made me think back on the end of my high school years and how that part of my life was beginning to fade away. The instrumental section years later would move me to tears in a way due to finding out that Tony envisioned it as a life progressing through the music which was represented in other pieces he's written, (such as a piece featured later here on this list from one of his solo albums).

"Since I Lost You" is yet another track off of 'We Can't Dance' that moved me to tears. It was a track that I didn't really connect to as much upon my first listen to the album in May 2007...it wasn't until a year later that I connected with it. In May 2008 my cat Henry C. Bailey passed away and I was deeply saddened by it. Me and my brother had a funeral for him and during the funeral I played this for him...flash forward to January 2013. My cousin passes away and sadly I couldn't attend the funeral, (due to me being away from home at the time). I let my mom know that I wanted this song played for her from me at her funeral...it was played for her and I was told everyone thought it fit very well. So, every time I hear this track it reminds me of those times.

3 X 3 - Genesis_III
"You Might Recall" is a song that made me cry based upon the lyrics. They're just really sad to me...about a love that started off bright with promises made but as time wore on things changed.

"Me and Virgil", (or as I like to spell it Vergil), is a song that brought a tear to my eye based on the music as well as the ending statement of "And to this day I can hear Ma sayin' to me...You're a big boy now."

A Curious Feeling - Tony Banks
"Somebody Else's Dream" is such an emotionally powerful track! I mean the entirety of 'A Curious Feeling' is powerful and moves me. Within the context of the albums story this track is where the main character begins to lose his mind and it's just filled with anger and sadness mixed together with fear of what lies ahead. I think what sticks out the most to me lyrically about this track is the line "Not for me to die with children around my bed...after a happy life." I first heard 'A Curious Feeling' during June 2007 but didn't fully appreciate the album until close to three years later in April 2010. That's when all of these songs really moved me.

"The Waters of Lethe" is an instrumental piece on 'A Curious Feeling' and out of the three instrumentals I would call it my favorite...but they're all damn good. So, yeah, the music really moved me backed by the visuals of the video here and just my own visualization of the main character accepting his fate of losing his mind and just thinking back on his life. A very melancholic track.

"In The Dark" is the ending track on 'A Curious Feeling' and although it's the shortest track on the album it ends things perfectly. The main character is sad but excepting of what will come and has already fully begun.

19 - Adele
"Hometown Glory" just brought a tear to my eye because of the lyrics and music. I can connect with the lyrics here of just wandering around my hometown where so many street corners and places hold memories of bygone days. I remember I first heard this track back in mid 2010 when I watched the film "The Other Woman".

"Alice" was a track that I originally heard back in mid 2010 in the film "The Lovely Bones". The scene in which it plays was one that I just thought was visually very beautiful and the track fit it perfectly. I thought that the track was very haunting really with the vocals that are kind of other worldly...and have a dream quality to them. (This was actually my first listen of dream pop.) These days I tend to think of my cousin who passed away in January 2013 when I hear this track. She really reminded me of the actress who played the main character in "The Lovely Bones".

Wind & Wuthering - Genesis_III
"One For The Vine" is a track that unlike the other tracks here brought tears to my eyes by the live version of the track. The studio version I feel just doesn't have as much feeling as the this live version here. Phil really belts out the lyrics and along with Chester Thompson really bangs those drums fucking hard. But what really did it for me was the section "This is HE! God's chosen one! He's come to save us from all our oppressors. Oh, we shall be kings of this world!" followed by Tony's awesome keyboards!!

"Silent Tears" really stood out to me within Last Window. I first played this amazing game back in December 2012. It was a game I had wanted for a few years but due to the fact it was only released in Japan and the U.K. I thought I may never play it...that's when I found out the D.S. isn't region locked so I could play it on mine! So, I got my mom to order it for me as a Christmas present. Oh, what a gift it was. The music really stood out to me in this game. I love every track, but "Silent Tears" was the one that really moved me. It's just a really emotional piano piece that fits perfectly with the story. I love it.

Floating Into The Night - Julee Cruise
"The World Spins" is a track I originally heard in Twin Peaks back in mid 2012. I enjoyed all of the music from Twin Peaks and downloaded the soundtrack. The tracks featuring Julee Cruise were wonderful and I really enjoyed her voice. I found out that she had a solo album of songs that had many tracks featured on Twin Peaks. So, I decided to listen to her debut album. I thought it was a fantastic album that had some haunting tracks on it. Of course the main track that's my fave is "The World Spins". I listened to it and it made me imagine myself being back in my bedroom at the age of about 10 to 11. Lying in bed looking out the window above at the moon and stars and thinking about the passage of time and how night turned to day and how time passes by...the world spins.

Strictly Inc. - Strictly Inc., Tony Banks
"Never Let Me Know"...it's a track that saddens me. I listened to it back in 2012-2015 every now and then on my mp3 player or at home in my headphones. It's actually my fave track on 'Strictly Inc.' despite the bad memories attached to it. It makes me think of my childhood and my mom and dad and later my own previous relationship. Brings tears to my eyes when I really focus on this song and I visualize how I see it.

"Gary Come Home" was a song featured in a double episode of Spongebob where Gary runs away from home. I heard this for the first time back during the summer of 2014. It made me think of my cat Bailey, (and as of early 2016 Trish as well). On the YouTube video a ton of people apparently felt a similar connection and left comments about pets that had passed away...but in the episode Gary isn't dead he just ran away. XD But the song itself kinda makes you feel more than that I suppose.

Duke - Genesis_III
"Heathaze" was kind of an overlooked track on 'Duke'. Some might call it filler in a way...I say fuck those people! XD No, this track is far from filler. It's another moving piece written by Tony Banks but I suppose what really moved me with this track is the line, "The trees and I are shaken by the same wind but whereas the trees will lose their withered leaves but I just can't seem to let them loose." and the later line of "I feel like an alien...a stranger in an alien place." I felt like a stranger...in an alien place when I first really connected with this track in early 2015...and later in early 2018.

Calling All Stations - Genesis_III
"There Must Be Some Other Way" is a track that I like to follow up "Never Let Me Know" with. This song has moved me to tears by the kick ass keyboard solo in it and also the lyrics which sadly I could connect with. It kind of takes me back to June/July of 2015 when I really listened to this song a lot. It was stuck in my head one day while out at a nice park in St. John's, Newfoundland in June 2015.

Twin Peaks: All New Season Two Music - Angelo Badalamenti, David Lynch
"Audrey's Prayer" is another moving instrumental piece performed by Angelo Badalamenti. His keyboards are just fucking beautiful here. I can recall a very emotional scene within Twin Peaks that had this piece of music playing that moved me to tears. I listened to it again in October 2015 and it moved me to tears as it did before.

The Voice of Love - Julee Cruise
"Movin' in On You" is a track that brought tears to my eyes in October 2015. It was right after I picked up the album at a used music/book/DVD store called 2nd & Charles that I listened to this album for the first time. That song kind of encapsulates that particular point in time for me. Every time I listen to it I can recall the things going on back then and how I was very sad really. It was the early autumn and very rainy out in late October and I can recall those feelings even now.

"Questions In A World of Blue"
This was a track I didn't really pick up on until around May 2018 whilst driving home from work early one sunny morning. Not the sunniest song to be listening to. I was like damn...this song really sounds depressing...about someones love that just goes away or someone just fading away from you. After really listening to it my God it's some sad stuff. Really moved me to tears.

Bloom - Beach House
"Wild" was a track that I just happened to hear late one night at a bowling alley in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in late September 2016. While bowling this held synthesizer note began to fade in and then this fucking awesome drum machine beat began and I was like 'what is that song?'! I looked it up a little while after and it turned out to be "Wild" by Beach House! That's when my love for Beach House began...but it wasn't until about a year and a half or so later that I really followed up on Beach House. They're now one of my favorite bands. And it all started that night in Milwaukee.

Dopamine - Borns
"The Emotion" is a really emotionally powerful song that I suppose made me feel sad back in early 2017. Just the way BØRNS sings it! He brought the emotion out of me for sure.

"American Money" was another powerful track from BØRNS. I just loved the choir ending while watching the music video. So beautiful.

Blue Madonna - Borns
"I Don't Want U Back" & "Tension" Are connected tracks that I feel a strong connection with. I really listened to a live performance that BØRNS did on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert from February 2018. That performance and really seeing him perform live for the first time really caught my attention and I know I really liked BØRNS before that but after that I really began to love him. That song really spoke to me during late February to mid March 2018. I was dealing with very similar circumstances in my life then with both tracks.

Ultraviolet - Dagny
"Fool's Gold" is a song I just happened upon one evening while riding in the car before a big thunderstorm hit in mid June 2018. I sadly can again connect with this track and my boy BØRNS is featured here as well! Fantastic!

Depression Cherry - Beach House
"Space Song" is just a lovely song that can just take you away in thought and reflection...which is what I did. I turned the lights off and put my headphones on and let the music take me away.

Devotion - Beach House
"Heart of Chambers" is in all honesty the one track here that just didn't make me cry but brought me close to weeping. There's just something about it while also watching the music video that hits my heart so terribly hard. Just makes me think of trying to love someone again who either you hurt or they hurt you...and trying to take the time to mend these smiles...and the video makes it even more hard to listen to because it just has that autumnal feel to it with that late autumn sun and just the feelings of sadness that seem to grip that time of the year for me. I first heard this beautiful track in mid July 2018.

La Roux had been on my list of music to check out for a few months. I listened to a few samples from this album and thought they sounded pretty good so I decided to check this album out before the first one. I came upon "Paradise is You" and the lyrics and music moved me to tears. Made me think of a deep love. First listened to this in mid December 2018.

Abacab - Genesis_III
"It's been a long been a long long time
Since I held anybody, since I loved anyone.
Ooh, it's been a long been a long long long time
But if I'm right or if I'm wrong, does it matter anyway?"
Another one of those songs that just hits me right in the feels. Recall driving on a winding country road listening to this as the sun was setting...and later in my car while on my lunch break singing my little heart out. November & December 2018

This is just another one of those powerful songs that moved me. The video moved me too with the part where Freddie is chasing the woman around the house and embraces her. It inspired my writing on my novel towards the end.

This is the most beautiful song that I’ve heard in a long time. I listened to it for the first time last night and from the beginning it just hits you hard with such beautiful imagery. It makes me think of a small northern village by the sea on the cusp of winter. One day I’ll write of that village and the secrets that it holds…Late November 2019

Made in Heaven - Queen
This is a song that moved me on a number of reasons. Firstly it's the final song that Freddie recorded. The final verse was sung by Brian May after Freddie passed. That alone is enough really. Just the atmosphere of this track though is sad and it's inspired scenes in my mind for my next novel I plan to write.
