Trainspotting (1996)
More a fly on the wall documentary on urban Scottish life than a well written movie.

Blade Runner (1982)
Do yourself a favour and read the book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep on which this movie is based. It is far superior to the movie, as is the case with most books, I hear you utter, but truly, the whole fascinating concept of the book is lost, and ignored. This is a dry sci-fi, set in very dark rooms. If had not of read the book and shocked at the main elements left out, and thus transfixed in state of disbelief, i would not have got through this.

I have been a journalist, still did not give me any connection to this movie.

Rebel Without a Cause (1955)
Whilst I rate this in an overrated list, I did enjoy the movie itself, but found it hard to understand why it was the movie that got James Dean the 'bad boy' element. It showed Dean to be a good actor, but there was not much rebelling and I think it is more suited as a book than a movie, as the inner dialogues got lost.
