Kwaidan (1964) (1965)
4 sections with different tales: included here for Snow Woman (Hoichi the Earless section is also excellent)
Kenji's rating:
Films for watching round Xmas-New Year; most will warm the cockles, but I've thrown in some- The Shining, Liebelei, An Affair in the Snow, Kwaidan (Snow Woman section), My Night with Maud, Franz Kafka's A Country Doctor, My Winnipeg..- that are not quite so cheerful, for good measure- for people who want something different from the usual festive stuff.
In year order.
