Death Note (2006)
Genre: Mystery, Psychological, Thriller, Supernatural

Episodes: 37

My first and my favorite Anime of all Time Rewatched 4 Times and it has an ingredible good german dub.

Yagami Light is an ace student with great prospects, who's bored out of his mind. One day he finds the "Death Note": a notebook from the realm of the Death Gods, with the power to kill people in any way he desires. With the Death Note in hand, Light decides to create his perfect world, without crime or criminals. However, when criminals start dropping dead one by one, the authorites send the legendary detective L to track down the killer, and a battle of wits, deception and logic ensues.

Its really entertaining to watch. Im pretty sure you can't get bored at least the first 12 episodes. I really love the characters. Sound is good I love both openings. The Animation is also well done. There are a few people who don't like this show because of how the last episodes turned out. Espacially the Ending.

Clearly the best show that came out in 2013. I think this show deserves really all the hype it gets. Its probably the best animation i have seen so far in anime. If you can't live with the cliffhanger at the end i would suggest you to go read the manga but unfortunatly its also Ongoing

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by giants. Giants are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by enclosing themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of giants. Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a giant in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super giant that appears out of thin air. As the smaller giants flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single giant and take revenge for all of mankind.

Because the anmie has no real ending yet i give it a 9.

Events in After Story take place immediately after the first season, following Tomoya's final semester of high school. After declaring his love to Nagisa, they begin to have a close relationship. Their life together will be faced with unexpected challenges, as the truth behind the illusionary world and the city's legend come to light.

Watch season one first in order to fully understand the story and the beauty of clannad. Clannad After Story is a must watch for all romance and drama anime fans. The first half is a bit lacking but that is an opinion. While the second is just amazing, I guarantee you will shed a tear or at least feel emotional by the end of watching this anime. Clannad means "Family", and this anime were able to show the warmth and importance of family.

This is one of the few anime that made me cried.

+The positive

1. Amazing second half
2. Show the characters outside of their school life
3. Tearjerking
4. Heartbreaking
5. Very emotional

The negative:

1. First few episodes are typical and nothing special
2. Many characters got less screen time during later half of the show
3. The fantasy element should be revealed and explained more
4.Very sad storyline
5.Forcefull ending

(A precious anime that you won't be able to forget)

Fate/Zero (2011)
Genre: Action, Fantasy, Supernatural

Episodes: 13 (25 + Season 2)

Fate/Zero takes place 10 years prior to the events of Fate/stay night, detailing the events of the 4th Holy Grail War in Fuyuki City. The War of the Holy Grail is a contest in which seven magi summon seven Heroic Spirits to compete to obtain the power of the"Holy Grail,"which grants a miracle. After three inconclusive wars for the elusive Holy Grail, the Fourth War commences. Founded by the Einzbern,Makiri, and Tohsaka families centuries ago,the Einzbern family is determined to achieve success after three successive failures,no matter the cost.As a result, they have elected to bring the hated magus killer,Kiritsugu Emiya, into their ranks, despite his methods and reputation as a skilled mercenary and a hitman who employs whatever he can use to accomplish his goals.Though Kiritsugu had once wanted to become a hero who could save everyone,he has long since abandoned this ideal upon realizing that saving one person comes at the cost of another's life. For the sake of humanity,he will ruthlessly destroy anything and anyone who threatens the peace of others. However,Kiritsugu finds himself deeply torn between the love he has found for his new family—his wife Irisviel and their daughter Illya—and what he must do to obtain the Holy Grail.Meanwhile,Kiritsugu's greatest opponent appears in the form of Kirei Kotomine,a priest who cannot find any sense of fulfillment in his life and sets his sights on Kiritsugu as the possible answer to the emptiness he feels.

GREAT! Animation, EPIC! fight scenes, Very cool characters, Solid story, Very enjoyable!

While Fate/Zero is the prequel to Fate Stay/Night it was actually made AFTER Fate Stay/Night but even though It was made after I would still watch it before as it is the prequel showing everything that happened before Fate Stay/Night.

This show has plenty of favorite characters to choose from as there all pretty much amazing in they're own way, the Animation is beautifully done and you feel as if you are watching a masterpiece when your watching it, this is definitely a show for almost everyone! and if you don't like this show your most likely a stuck up critic who hates everything for no good reason at all.

If you enjoy epic fight scenes with great characters and story then watch this Anime! its definitely a great addition to your list of Anime.

Steins;Gate (2011)
Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller

Episodes: 24

One of the best sci-fi time travel ever created.

The Main storyline is about Okabe Rintarou and his fellow lab members discovering the mystery of time travel and the consequences of messing with time. The selling point of Steins;Gate story is how well it is researched. The plot can be related to the real world, such as John Titor, IBM 5100, Sern/Cern and Dr.Pepper. The beginning of the show has a 50% chance of whether you will be immediately immerse to the show or just bored the hell out of it. I really recommend anyone who is finding this how hard to watch to continue at least half-way through. In episode 12 is where the show completely changed it's pace and gradually become more fun and interesting to watch. Another selling point of Steins;Gate is the variety of genre included such as comedy, romance, thriller and etc. The diverse genre can makes the show more interesting and more fun to watch. Stein;Gate provide a very original story that is unlike any other time traveling tale. On top of that, the ending has a really good conclusion.

Charakters: Hououin Kyouma, on of the best anime character in all of anime history. Christina (Makise Kurisu), the best female (tsundere) character to date.

Some people could get bored in the first episodes but believe me hold on to episode 12 it gets really awesome.
Even though the animation and the sound quality is not perfect, it is near-perfect to be precise. I would give both the animation and sound quality a 9.7 and the first episodes were kinda boring. If you were trying to find an anime which is more complex then the usual ones you have found it sir.

Raised by a mysterious sorcerer after the horrific death of his parents, Shiro Emiya has only just begun to help others using the small tidbits of magic that he's learned. However, when he's suddenly caught in a battle between two more powerful Magus, Shiro finds himself performing a spell above his expected ability, summoning the beautiful spirit warrior Saber to protect him! But safety is only momentary as Shiro and Saber now find themselves thrust into in a secret world of dark magic and deadly challenges: a no-holds barred duel to the death known as the Holy Grail War! At stake: a prize of unimaginable power. But can the inexperienced Shiro and Saber survive long enough to even enter the contest? First they'll have to withstand waves of treachery and assassination, even as Shiro scrambles to learn everything he'll need to know to stay alive as seven teams of Magus and Spirit Servants face off in mortal combat!

Over all I really enjoy this show and stand by it, even through Shiro's duller moments (see joke at top) and would recommend it, and also suggest if you are going into the fate franchise to start here before fate/zero, mainly because it's hard to go from off the charts quality in animation to average, but I personally feel that it provides a better experience in this order.
Anyway I suggest you watching fate zero first if you like it you will like fate stay/night too.

A year has passed since "The Black Rebellion" and the remaining Black Knights have vanished into the shadows, their leader and figurehead, Zero, executed by the Britannian Empire. Area 11 is once more squirming under the Emperor's oppressive heel as the Britannian armies concentrate their attacks on the European front. But for the Britannians living in Area 11, life is back to normal. On one such normal day, a Britannian student, skipping his classes in the Ashford Academy, sneaks out to gamble on his chess play. But unknown to this young man, several forces are eying him from the shadows, for soon, he will experience a shocking encounter with his own obscured past, and the masked rebel mastermind Zero will return.

When looked at on paper this show does not seem as if it would shine bright at all, yet once you start watching you are engrossed and quickly go episode after episode having to find out what Lelouch does next. There are a few moments in the anime that are those “could never happen” moments but all animes have them and this one does a great job of covering any moment up by quickly moving on and keeping your attention to the plot.

Every anime has a great hero, but Lelouch is the classic tragedy hero made into a villain…only with a twist ending that nobody could have seen coming until the last few episodes.

Either way I hope as many people at least give the first season a chance before making judgments.

With that i mean the hole Black lagoon series :D

Genre: Action, Seinen

Episodes: 12 (24 + Season 2)

The story follows our main protagonist Rokuro Okajima who finds himself kidnapped by the Lagoon Company who were after the confidential disc he was carrying on a ship. After bonding with the Lagoon Company, and being given the name "Rock," he ultimately helps the crew escape from a mercenary hired to kill them all and receive the disc, and decides to become a permanent member.

Black Lagoon is an action series, people have guns, people use guns, people die, pretty standard sounding, but everything about it works and creates a truly brilliant experience thanks to it's memorable cast of characters.

Black Lagoon is one of those shows that you can easily sit back and just enjoy, your not going to get any heavy drama here, your also not going to get a huge complex plot thats hard to keep up with, the cast of characters, the setting and the incredible voice acting make it one of the most enjoyable action shows.

The main protagonist of the show, Rock was initially a "yes-man" always sucking up to his boss and being slapped around by him.Rock is a good main character and is probably the most level headed of the group. By no means is he a badass, but he never makes himself feel too useless to the rest of members who each specialize in their own certain skill. Overall, great main protagonist who develops (especially with Revy) as the show goes on.

Basically, Revy is your classic Femme Fatale, she smokes and drinks, wears skimpy clothes, and is always dragging Rock into one dangerous situation after another. Although her personality is far from seductive, I'm completely fine with that since that probably would've hurt her character more than helped. She's also an extremely moody character, but can usually be cheered up by giving her a new gun.
Overall, she's a great heroine and definitely my favorite character from the show. She's loads of fun and always steals the show when she's on screen.

I'm just going to make this clear now, if you don't enjoy action flicks with A LOT of swearing, guns, blood, and the occasional nudity (not Revy sadly) then you probably will not like this show. If you're looking for a great story with deep emotional characters you won't find this here either. If you're looking to turn your brain off and look for a fun time, then you're looking at the right show. I enjoyed the hell out of it as it gave me a chance to just relax and enjoy something fun without having to dissect far into its story.

Baccano! (2007)
Genre: Action, Mystery, Super-natural, Seinen

Episodes: 12

Baccano story was divided into various parts. It was divided into 1929, 1930 and 1931. The storyline is constantly going back and forward between these timeline. It's like the movie Pulp Fiction if you ever watch it. The purpose of they doing this is to keep the viewer constantly interested in the plot because whenever the story become boring they just show the other timeline and show the fun stuff there. For example, at first it was in 1929, then the story became boring and they skip to 1930 where it is fun again. But I guess this actually backfire them, because the first few episode I was bored the hell out of it, I really felt asleep watching this. Not until the second half of the show where I started to get used to their pacing and style, then everything become clearer and better.

+ The positive:

1.The climax of each timeline are shown together to make one amazing climax
2. Smart story
3. Unique style

- The negative:

1. Can be boring at times only until episode 6.
2. The boring part of each timeline are shown together to make one boring introduction.

OP and ED theme are both great

+ The positive:

1. Smooth action and fighting scene
2. Great special effect such as explosion
3. Great blood physic
4. Sharp character and background
- The negative:

1. Colours are bland
2. Lighting could be improved

+ The positive:

1. No protagonist
2. Unique and original characters
3. Isaac and Miria
+/- The neutral:

1. A huge cast

- The negative:

1. Some characters are forgettable

This is the weakest factor, if it wasn't for the awesome climax, I would probably fell asleep every single episode. As the show progress, I enjoy it more and more which is a good. If only the first few episodes aren't so boring, then I could rate this anime much higher. The thing I enjoyed most is

Isaac and Miria!!

Fullmetal Alchemist takes place in a fantasy world where alchemy exists. Alchemists, as in people who study in alchemy are able to use it as weapon, medical use and others. The main storyline here is about the protagonist, Edward Elric and his brother, Alphonse Elric on a quest to find the philosopher stone.

This show is 64 episodes long, therefore there are a lot of different arcs and developments. The best thing about the story is how even though it's very long, it doesn't feel like it was forced to continue and everything seems to be the way it is. The bad thing about a long running show is that most of the individual episodes doesn't really stand out.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is the remake and alternate retelling of the original Fullmetal Alchemist released back in 2003. Its immense popularity has proven that this is indeed a successful remake and probably better than the original (I haven't watch the original so I can't judge). Well certainly amazing but it is by no mean perfection.

+ The positive:

1. Deep and symbolic
2. Original
3. No plot hole (Haven't found any)
4. Engaging
5. Excellent build up
6. Excellent execution
7. Not forceful
8. Final arc

- The negative

1. Sometimes it felt like it was dragging on too much
2. Episodes doesn't stand out
3. Long length (64 episodes)

Great action scene, this is when Fullmetal Alchemist looks the best. I don't like the style of a comedy scene

I have a mediocre enjoyment for Fullmetal Alchemist. I do enjoy the first few episodes of the show but I couldn't bring myself to find the main characters likeable. As the show progress, I enjoy the plot less but I like the main characters more as I have grow to understand them better. During the final arc, that's where I really enjoy the show. It was at its fullest in every aspect during the final arc and I enjoy the hell out of it. If it weren't for the final arc, I won't even like the show as it is now. And it was boring to get into this anime for me.

In a far away future, mankind lives underground in huge caves, unknowing of a world above with a sky and stars. In the small village of Jiha, Simon, a shy boy who works as a digger discovers a strange glowing object during excavation. The enterprising Kamina, a young man with a pair of rakish sunglasses and the passion of a firey sun, befriends Simon and forms a small band of brothers, the Gurren Brigade, to escape the village and break through the ceiling of the cave to reach the surface, which few believe exist. The village elder won't hear of such foolishness and punishes the Brigade. However, when disaster strikes from the world above and the entire village is in jeopardy, it's up to Simon, Kamina, a girl with a big gun named Yoko, and the small yet sturdy robot, Lagann, to save the day. The new friends journey to the world above and find that the surface is a harsh battlefield, and it's up to them to fight back against the rampaging Beastmen to turn the tide in the humans' favor! Pierce the heavens, Gurren Lagann!

Tengen Toppa is one of the best MECHA Anime there is, since everything goes well in the story, the sound is good (songs, sound effects, everything!), good graphics (nice animation), awesome characters too! I love this anime since it has all my requirements; Comedy, Romance and especially Mecha!

In the season 1 like series (1-16) the story of Gurren Lagann is clear, the characters purpose and why are they doing that. In the next season like series (17-27) the story has leaped into AWESOME and it gets clearer and has INSANE scenes which are still AWESOME and must watch!

+Awesome Parts:

1. Good Story ☆☆☆

2. Has a reason for climax and has another reason for solution! ☆☆☆☆☆

3. Good Ending ☆☆☆☆

4. Lovely Characters ☆☆☆☆☆

5. Good Character Animation (smooth movement and effects)

6. Superb effects (laser beams, explosions, BOOM)

-Bad/UnAwesome Parts:

1. Weird climax sometimes (unreasonable)

2. Sometimes can go over (become little bit harem)

3. Weird Eye designs

4. Somewhat old fashioned animation

5. Sometimes its too much fanservice

What do I feel after I watch this Anime?

Gurren Lagann really has some pretty damn Epic moments.
But I suggest you not taking this anime seriously.

For those who likes to watch anime in English, go ahead!

Angel Beats! (2010)
Genre: Action, Comedy, Drama, School, Supernatural

Episodes: 13

In a world after death, angels fight for their fate and their future. Yuri, the leader of the Shinda Sekai Sensen, rebels against the god who destined her to have an unreasonable life. On the otherhand, Tenshi, the chairperson of the student council for the world after death, battles against the SSS members. SSS members utilize armed weaponry to battle it out against the angels harnessing supernatural powers.

This show is really good, its got the perfect combo of comedy, action, and some romance i guess. Throughout the series I ended up laughing almost every episode, but pretty much crying every episode (and not just because it was funny).
The charters are pretty good and the story flowed ok, but some episodes did not need to be in the series. I really liked the main characters back story and it explained a lot about him, but they never went in to detail on the other characters, which was kind of annoying.
Oh and BTW, make sure you watch past the credits on the last episode or you will be disappointed.

Sorata is kicked out of his high-school dorms for keeping a cat, and moves into a small dorm called Sakurasō. It turns out that all the residents, in addition to being uncontrollable and weird, are outstanding in some way: a well-known animator, a scriptwriter, a programmer. A beautiful girl called Mashiro moves in who is an internationally known painter but is so devoted to art that she can't even dress herself, and Sorata is given the job of looking after her. Through her and the other residents, he learns who he is and what he wants to do.

Most noteworthy is our oblivious and rather emotionless female lead Mashiro, a girl who has for all her life painted pictures and has no clue how to take care of herself. Mashiro is incredibly dense and oblivious to basically everything. Yet this is what makes her such an interesting lead, and why her character overall works well with the over exaggerated actions of the male lead in charge of her, Sorata. The two create one of my favorite dynamic duos, and give a great comedic aspect that many slice of lifes lack. The rest of Sakurasou's residents are also add to the chemistry and play a vital role in this series, ranging from the tsundere friend who also likes Sorata, Nanami, to the random, jubilant, and talented animator Misaki. They all compliment the duo well and have their own meaningful back stories.

The introduction of Sorata’s ambitions at the start to be a game maker contrasts beautifully with Mashiro’s brilliance as an artist. While Sorata faces the hardships and realities of being a newbie game maker, Mashiro eases her way to the top as new manga artist. And Sorata experiences those feelings of when somebody is better than you, no matter how hard you try.

End result? Something that catches you off guard. A romance comedy with a unique feel that truly hits home. Great atmosphere of characters and cast, and solid pacing that intertwines comedy and drama. If you’re a romance comedy fan, by all means watch this if you want something with a change of pace.

Mashiro is a love and hate character. If you hate her, you probably won’t like this series.
