Another interesting factor is that it is an '80's action movie that has right-wing villains. That was quite ballsy for an action movie in the 1980's - the era in which Reagan was king, ruining - um, I mean running the U.S.A.
One of my favorite films from one of the most macho actors ever.

A masterpiece of splatter! The title and main character are Machete, so what do you expect?

Oh, yes! More splatter! More fun! It gets outlandish - OK, batshit crazy, but that's how a movie like Machete Kills is supposed to be.

This is what an action movie is supposed to be!

And it was made in an era dominated by pathetic, sanitized PG-13 crap! Of course, a movie can be PG-13, or even PG and still be good, but that takes talent, which is in short supply in Hollywood these days.

Do I even need to comment on this one?

Considering that one of the characters is the Krotchy mascot - basically a walking, talking ballsack - yes, creating this movie definitely took balls. It's disappointing and not how I would make a movie based on the Postal video game franchise, but Uwe Boll deserves credit for crossing the line repeatedly.

The king and gold standard of 1980's action - and with great social commentary, too. Gory action combined with a criticism of the excesses of the cold blooded Reagan era? That took balls!
