March to April 2016 Tomatometer Predictions

Tomatometer Guess: 87%. If early reviews are any indication, this film is sure to be another home run for Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Actual Score: 99%. This may be the first surprise of 2016. Zootopia is an exciting film with a surprising amount of adult humor and a timely message.

Seriously, if Moana is half as good as this, then Disney and Pixar could become equals in terms of quality.

Tomatometer Guess: 44%. This sequel to the sleeper hit, Olympus Has Fallen, looks just as fun and violent as the first.

Actual Score: 24%. London Has Fallen would be a great follow-up to the first if it weren't for its editing. I'm not just referring to the shaky cam in some of the action scenes, but the disjointed and messy pacing throughout the film.

Still, it's a fun if forgettable watch.

Tomatometer Guess: 73%.

Actual Score: 59%. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot is nothing special, but it's cast makes it at least worth watching.

Tomatometer Guess: 69%. I'm sure that most of us were surprised when this sequel to the 2008 hit film was announced only a few months back. Let's just hope the wait was worth it.

Actual Score: 91%. 10 Cloverfield Laane is a tense, well-acted, and very well directed thriller with layered and ambiguous characters. Despite what the title implies, it's not really a sequel to the 2008 film, but more of a distant cousin.

Tomatometer Guess: 20%.

Actual Score: 39%. The Brothers Grimsby brings more of the raunchy shock-humor we've come to expect from Sacha Baron Cohen, but your enjoyment of it will depend on how you felt about his previous films. I personally thought it went a little too far at times, but that's just me.

Tomatometer Guess: 33%. This film marks the beginning of the end for the Divergent Saga. And I'm just as apathetic about it ending as I was when it began.

Actual Score: 11%. If Insurgent wasn't enough of a snoozefest for you, than Allegiant's dull characters and plodding story should do the trick.

Tomatometer Guess: 86%. The director of Mud and Joe returns to direct this Sci-Fi film.

Actual Score: 84%. While some may find it's ending abrupt, Midnight Special is a beautifully acted, entertaining, and ambitious Sci-Fi film.

Tomatometer Guess: 66%. While the idea of seeing Batman and Superman in the same movie has me excited, I must admit that I have low expectations for this.

The cast is a mixed bag, the marketing has been inconsistent, and I was deeply disappointed with DC's previous film, Man Of Steel.

That being said, a new writer and script give me some hope.

Actual Score: 30%. While entertaining and boasting strong performances from Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, Batman V Superman is undone by an incoherent script that can't successfully balance its characters and its painfully obvious set up for future installments.

Tomatometer Guess: 46%. Will this sequel to the highly successful indie film live up to expectations, or will it prove to be too little, too late?

Actual Score: 25%. My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 has a few funny moments courtesy of Andrea Martin, but the over the top characters and low budget diretion make it feel like an overlong episode of the short lived TV series.

Tomatometer Guess: 71%.

Actual Score: 90%. Green Room is a tense horror film made even better by Sir Patrick Stewart's brilliant performance.

Tomatometer Guess: 80%. After footage from D23 raised everyone's expectations, director of Iron Man, Jon Favreau helms this adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's book.

Actual Score: 93%. On top of having amazing visual FX, The Jungle Book is an adventure with stellar voice acting (The standouts being Bill Murray as Baloo and Idris Elba as Shere Khan), great on screen acting from Neel Sethi as Mowgli, and lots of heart.

Tomatometer Guess: 56%.

Actual Score: 92%. Way higher than I was expecting, and for good reason. Barbershop 3 isn't just a fun comedy, it's also a heartfelt and dramatic movie that talks about racial issues in a thought provoking manner, while balancing these heavy themes with some genuine laughs. If you like the first two, give this a watch.

Tomatometer Guess: 92%. Richard Linklater helms the spiritual sequel to his smash hit, Dazed and Confused.

Actual Score: 90%. After weeks of hearing the praise, I finally got to see Everybody Wants Some, and it was well worth the wait.

It's funny, it's got a great cast, it's got a great soundtrack, and it compliments Dazed And Confused perfectly. Definitely check it out if you get the chance..

Tomatometer Guess: 54%. Despite the lukewarm reception of Snow White and The Huntsman, This prequel certainly looks much better if only because Kristen Stewart isn't in it.

Actual Score: 17%. The Huntsman: Winter's War is a mediocre fantasy film that us too boring to be memorable or good, but is too forgettable to be considered awful. While some of the action scenes are fun, this is one you can easily skip.

Tomatometer Guess: 78%. After 5 seasons on TV, Key and Peele bring their brand of comedy to the big screen.

Actual Score: 79%. It's not groundbreaking, but Keanu is full of great humor, exciting action setpieces, great chemistry from Key and Peele (as always) that make up for the few jokes that don't land.

On a side note, that kitten is the cutest thing in the world.

Tomatometer Guess: 73%. Having played most of the games, I'm personally looking forward to this.

Actual Score: 20%. Much lower than I expected. Ratchet & Clank has superb voice acting and breathtaking animation, but the story is cliche and the movie up until the third act is somewhat boring. It feels like watching someone play the video game.
