To Kill a Mockingbird (1962)
June 2nd' 2011
The American Film Institute lists To Kill a Mockingbird as one of the top 50 American movies of all time.
A best selling Haper Lee's novel, " To kill a mocking bird" turned into adaptation, classic 1962 movie by Universal Pictures & Turner Classic Movies.
There is so much feeling for children in the film that kept the viewers glued to screen. This is an all-time classic treatment of what prejudice does to people, and of the injustice there is when people react to their ignorance, rather to the truths staring them in the face.
Atticus Finch Quote: Well, I reckon because mockingbirds don't do anything but make music for us to enjoy. They don't eat people's gardens, don't nest in the corncrib, they don't do one thing but just sing their hearts out for us.

Limitless (2011)
June 6th' 2011
All in all, a movie about a ‘smart pill’ that takes some dumb plot turns.
Concept is sort of unique, after pragmatic physical performance drugs, now it is turn for mental enhancement. Limitless should be so much smarter than it is. The movie is about a down-and-out guy who takes a “smart pill,” that done wonders for him. Involvement of money, gangsters somewhat shifted the paradigm and the viewer's from the genesis. Honestly didn't appeal much to me, keeping the potential story line, it could have been better.
One can give it a try, not sure how much it appeal to the viewer.

Rabbit Hole (2011)
June 10th' 2011
RABBIT HOLE is a vivid, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly witty portrait of a family searching for what remains possible in the most impossible of all situations. Becca and Howie Corbett (NICOLE KIDMAN and AARON ECKHART) are trying hard to return to their everyday existence in the wake of a shocking, sudden loss of their beloved young son in an accident. Both the parents have their own way to find solace and on the way their marriage came to wire as well, but finally the manage to make it out.
You can add one more notch to the list of fine performances by Nicole Kidman. A star yes, but also through-and-through an accomplished actress In Rabbit Hole, she again delivers; showcasing depth, restrained emotion, and channeling all the inner angst you’d expect from a mother dealing with loss. She’s stoic alright, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t tears. She do love her kid, after all she is a mother

I like that movie pretty much, humans pushing to the limits to unveil the secrets of nature. The challenge in which they have to pay sacrifices.
I haven't watched that movie in 3D, but for sure it is a treat even to watch in 2D at home. A good thriller from none other than James Cameron, however inspite of James Cameron brave effort, the weak plot, average acting and paper-thin characterizations will likely make it a quickly forgotten movie, but the visuals almost make it worth seeing in the theaters.
Inspired by a true story. Sorta. Sanctum is a movie built entirely around the use of 3D combined with the specific cinematography used to show off the cave diving that takes center stage in the film. As a result, the film is beautiful at times, bordering on stunning, and the 3D really does make it worth the price of admission.

Watched the movie in IMAX theatre on 42nd Street at Times Square, New York. The movie in 3D a unique experience after quite a while, however at times it is very cumbersome to wear 3D glasses over spectacles.
Well movie, as happens in all of the sequel feel not that impressive as some of the previous, quite refelected in IMDB movie rating as well.
Everyone saw this coming, but we all hoped for the best, anyway. After months of trailers, pop-ups, commercials, posters, and more than a few promises from star Johnny Depp, producer Jerry Bruckheimer, and director Rob Marshall, it turns out that Pirates of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides is the weakest. That maybe the fate of most of the sequel movies such as Die Hard, Nightmare of Elm Street, Harry Potter etc..

The Mechanic (2011)
June 23' 2011
A fast paced thoroughly bloody action film The Mechanic, a remake of the 70s Michael Winner-Charles Bronson action-fest. Jason Statham plays Arthur Bishop, a seasoned professional who kills people for a living. Movie is kind a extension of the Transporter films, playing a tight-lipped, brutally efficient assassin is his gift and that kind of roles suit him too. Overall a watchable film.

The American (2010)
June 23' 2011
Well it feel like I am watching a The Mechanic in slow motion. The American isn’t a film with momentum. The American of the title is Jack (Clooney), a hitman who is living a seemingly idyllic life in Sweden which is quickly shattered when men come to kill him (for reasons never explained). Jack makes it out alive and hides out in a small, beautiful Italian village awaiting instructions from his contact on how to proceed. He’s given a job that requires him to build a specialized rifle for an assassination. However, his life remains in danger and Jack’s (justified) paranoia becomes more intense throughout the film.
