A day in the life of Natalie Portman

Natalie Hershlag was born on June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, Israel to Shelley Stevens and Avner Hershlag. She later adapted her grandma's surname Portman and used it as her stage name.



Natalie got her first role starring in Luc Besson's Léon: The Professional, she got recognition for her brilliant performance as Mathilda.



Natalie got her big brake starring in the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace playing the role of Padmé Amidala. This role was a turning point in her career because it made her famous and got the attention of many fans. She later went to star in 2 more star wars film.



She graduated from Harvard in 2003. She find education very important and even missed the premier of her movie in order to do an exam, she has previously said “I don't love studying. I hate studying. I like learning. Learning is beautiful.”



In 2010 Natalie acted in the highly acclaimed movie Black Swan. She spent countless hours preparing for that role by doing ballet training, swimming and staying on a strict diet. All the hard work paid of when she got an Academy Award for beat actress.



During her role in Black Swan, Natalie trained with ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied whom she later become romantically linked with.On August 4, 2012, Portman and Millepied married in an intimate Jewish ceremony.



Portman gave birth to their son Aleph Portman-Millepied in June 2011.



As of today Natalie has been in more than 30 movies and has more to come. She has gained a net worth of $32 Million. She is a spokes person for Dior and promoted the Miss Dior Cherri fragrance.



She is an animal right's advocate which led her to have a vegan diet and not wear fur, feathers, or leather. She is an Ambassador for the charity based organization free the children.
