Unhappy w/ Steve Rogers as a Test Subject, General Maxfield Saunders offers leniency to Clinton McIntyre, who is guilty of killing his Commanding Officer. Before Steve Rogers arrives, Gen. Saunders gives McIntyre the serum.
McIntyre immediately goes berserk with pain, and then collapsed & died of a heart attack.
His body was then placed in government storage to later be revived by AIM and convinced that Captain America was responsible for his death.

Isaiah Bradley / Josiah X
The only survivor of 300 African-Americans who were tested on trying to recreate the Super Soldier Serum.
After a failed suicide mission, Isaiah was court-martialed and imprisoned at Leavenworth in 1943. In 1960, Bradley was pardoned by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, and released.
While Isaiah was in prison, the government attempted to use his altered DNA to create another Super-Soldier. After 39 attempts they had a single success, which was Josiah X.
Isaiah Bradley's grandson, Elijah "Eli" Bradley, currently fights as the second Patriot & a member of Young Avengers.

William Burnside
