Lost (2004)
The "Lost" Finale Didn't Give Us Answers: Was the character resolution well done? Yes, yes it was. Was it sweet and sentimental to see all the sideways reunions? In some cases. Did the show's ending make any sense at all? No, no it didn't. The series finale of this show left us with more unanswered questions than we can fathom, even all these months later. Source: TWoP

American Idol (2002)
Simon's Sendoff on "American Idol": Simon was always our favorite part of this train wreck of a show, so we expected a big, fabulous sendoff for the cranky judge. Instead, Paula Abdul tried to hijack the night by ostensibly talking about how much she loved Simon, but then unleashed the crazy with some random "jokes" about Simon knocking her up. Source: TWoP
Treme (2010)
"Treme": David Simon is the master of issue-minded TV dramas, so this new HBO show was hotly anticipated. But it turned out to be an over-the-top cartoon portrayal of New Orleans with some of the most impossible- to-like, one-dimensional characters constantly screaming at each other over annoying brass bands. Gossip Girl (2007)
Katie Cassidy on "Gossip Girl": When we heard that "Melrose Place" alum Katie Cassidy was finding a new home as a bad girl on "Gossip Girl," we were excited. But then we realized her character was just a bitter co-ed trying to gain revenge on Serena for screwing over her brother. Maybe she needs to go back to being blonde? Source: TWoP
"Running Wilde": "Arrested Development" creator Mitch Hurwitz made a show starring Will Arnett, Keri Russell, and Peter Serafinowicz. There's no way that could not be awesome, right? Wrong: This was, by far, one of the dumbest, most painfully unfunny new shows of the fall. Source: TWoP
Project Runway (2004)
"Project Runway" Went On Forever: An extra 90 minutes each week was torture. Who needs to see more footage of designers sewing and shopping? And despite some great moments (like Mondo's heart-wrenching revelation of his HIV status), this season as a whole was a let-down, not least because of Gretchen's undeserving win. Source: TWoP
House M.D. (2004)
"House": The Huddy Effect: Remember all those promises from everyone involved with the show that House and Cuddy's romantic relationship wouldn't hurt "House" at all? That it wouldn't devolve into jealous antics and inane relationship discussions, or both of them behaving like teenagers? Remember that? Well, that's all that happened. Source: TWoP
Glee (2009)
"Glee" Loses Its Groove: We like "Glee," but it's just so inconsistent. It fluctuates from cutting commentary on high school to cloying after-school special week to week (or sometimes even within the same episode). And the show is relying too heavily on "theme" weeks this season, cramming in songs that don't work for the characters. Source: TWoP
"Rubicon": "Rubicon" finished strong (in terms of storylines and action), but the storytelling was so weak in the beginning that there were entire episodes where literally nothing happened. Shame no one saw the end, but the show certainly didn't make a case for anyone to bother with it in the first place. Source: TWoP
The Walking Dead (2010)
"The Walking Dead": While the series is interesting and has a great look, it's lacking a lot in the way of character development, dialogue, and acting ability. There are so many awkward pauses and bug eyes that sometimes it's hard to tell the living people from the dead ones. Source: TWoP

So You Think You Can Dance (2005)
Alex Wong Injured on "So You Think You Can Dance": First Alex couldn't compete because he was under contract with the Miami Ballet. Then when we finally got him on the show, and in the finals, he got hurt. We were heartbroken for him, because clearly he wanted (and deserved) the title of America's Best Dancer. Source: TWoP
The Event (2010)
"The Event": The serialized conspiracy thriller that was supposed to fill our "24" and "Lost" voids turned out to be even more implausible than "FlashForward." After a whole fall's worth of episodes, we just can't take its gaping plot holes seriously. Source: TWoP
Dancing with the Stars (2005)
Bristol Loses "Dancing With the Stars": She couldn't dance that well, but we do give her a lot of credit for just going for it on this show. If she'd won, it would have meant that the producers' desperate attempt to get ratings by bringing in a Palin would have totally backfired on them, and we would have just laughed and laughed. Source: TWoP
The "Tonight Show" Debacle: The entire situation with Jay Leno at 10pm and Conan O'Brien losing his dream job was an ugly bungling that made no one look good and resulted in no true victory for any party involved. Can't wait to go through this all over again with Jimmy Fallon in five years. Source: TWoP
**Personal Note - Conan isnt funny and didnt deserve to take over the show in the 1st place**

Mad Men (2007)
Indecent Proposal on "Mad Men": Don's decision to propose to his secretary in California on a whim was weird and unsettling; we just kept hoping that the whole thing was one bizarre extended dream sequence. Maybe he'll walk out of the shower at the start of next season and Faye will be in his bed? Source: TWoP
Boardwalk Empire (2010)
"Boardwalk Empire" Is Boring: It stars Steve Buscemi, it's about gangsters, Martin Scorsese directed the premiere, and a lot of " Sopranos" folks are behind the scenes, so we had very high expectations for this one. But the pacing was so slow, many of the main characters were bland, and the episodes just seemed to drag on. Source: TWoP
If You Blinked, You Missed "Lone Star": One of the most promising new shows of the fall season didn't even make it to midseason. In fact, it was yanked after only two episodes aired. At least this show about a con artist trying to juggle a complicated double life introduced us to the charming and talented James Wolk. Better luck next time. Source: TWoP
V (2009)
The "V" Season Finale: With Anna growing an army of warriors on board the mothership, the season finale should have given us a crazy amount of action. But what it gave us instead was a dinner party. And then Anna got angry and turned the sky pink. Was that supposed to be scary? Source: TWoP

jay-jay's rating:

Despite all our gleeful griping, we honestly want all our favorite shows to be good forever, and for new shows that look promising to deliver. But still, every season we get disappointed by certain programs. Here are all the storylines, characters, entire series, cancellations, finales, moments, and screw-ups that left us crying into our DVRs this year. โ Television Without Pity
