The Holy Bible: King James Version - Anonymous
The book of my faith: the most inspirational, poetic, all-encompassing literary work ever conceived. God's word inspired and spoken to men and women whom shared with the world the Greatest Story Ever Told! Sometimes in a whisper and sometimes with a lyrical trumpet. It contains historical fact, sweeping romance, cherished proverbs... it's all here... and every word is the undeniable, absolute truth!
Moviediva's rating:

A wonderfully viable, meaningful study aid that will help both new Christians and old ones alike. Features side by side translation of four widely published biblical texts... with analysis, cross-index, and more!

The Taming of the Shrew - William Shakespeare
My favorite work of Shakespeare; it captures the reader from the first word with its fiery wit and the equally fiery temper of its unlikely heroine, a sharped-tongued, strong-willed beauty who is only transformed by the power of love and submission to something greater than herself. I also adore the 1967 film version starring Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. If you have checked out neither this classic piece of literature nor the film, do yourself a favor and get both!

Daddy-Long-Legs - Jean Webster
Perhaps my favorite novel of all time; written in epistlery form and told from the perspective of a young ward of the John Grier Home for Girls;Judy Abbott is delightful, impish, imaginative, perplexing, and young... but four years in college under the mysterious sponsorship of a benovelent guardian (sight unseen) has a way of transforming a girl into a lady. For the truly romantic-at-heart, this novel places a fresh spin on the secret admirer storyline... In my opinon, sheer perfection...
Moviediva's rating:

A delightful sequel to Daddy Long Legs in epistlery form as well, which captures an immense amount of heart.

Emma (Enriched Classics) - Jane Austen
My favorite Austen work. I love everything about it: the endearing humor, the kind if somewhat spoiled heroine and her endless matchmaking schemes, the long- suffering, gallant, older, and more serious Mr. Knightley who must wait patiently in the wings for his beloved, the witty dialogue, the vivid description, and everything in between. A perfect masterpiece that far transcends the Victorian Society in which it is rooted. Relevant, fresh, funny, and infinitely entertaining.
