The Castle (1997)
There are so many sayings to come out of this film that Australians quote daily. I sometimes wonder how people in Australia who haven't seen the film, simply get by.

The Babadook (2014)
This romantic film about finding love with a foreign creature, post the death of a women's husband, is quintessentially Australian.
Also, I'd just like to put it out into the universe that Essie Davis (Australia's version of Meryl Streep) acted with my Mother. They may have been 5, and playing worms, but I still think it was the experience Essie needed to have to become Australia's GOAT.

Monkey Grip (1982)
I watched this in film studies at school, and it I think it was the juxtaposition of seeing a Playschool Host (Australia's version of Sesame Street) NAKED, the drugs, the music with The Divinyls, and hearing Australian accents on the big screen that just stuck with me.
