120 Days of Horror
Horror films seenSurprisingly solid horror - starts off cliched with a group of partying teens on their last day of holiday go to explore an unmapped ruin - it picks up fairly quick and the evil/the creature is handled okay despite the absurdity of it. Some obvious lapses in logic which could have been handled better

An Indian version of Blair Witch Project which lacks everything that made BWP at least interesting if not scary. They may have been better making some Bollywood big musical melodramatic dance version! The area has a deep rich mythology so why not use that to make something original?
Anyways the film can be seen entirely on youtube , trailer is below xxixii's rating:
A fairly original angle as its an anthology of 3 short horror films with a World War 2 setting - Its low budget and shows, most of the effects are laughable and the acting is pretty bad - just wait until you see a meeting in a hall where it clearly has modern looking plastic chairs...LOL ... Good ideas ruined by poor execution in the main - it needs better effects better acting and more authentic locations. Shame it had potential
xxixii's rating:
average bog-standard horror thriller - nicely shot solid acting just we have seen it all before - nothing new to offer
xxixii's rating:
A fairly standard Asian horror flick - confusing as hell but it has nice imagery in places. For a change the kid in this flick was sympathetic.OK. 5 minutes in and has a wtf??? moment
Oh - the red shoes look pink to me - maybe some translation thing xxixii's rating:
Just when I thought I would never see another decent mindfuck messed up psychological thriller/horror I see this...and its European (Norwegian)too, I am gobsmacked - though it does occasionally slip into the problem with all reality bending films - you dont know what is real so you give up caring a bit. great casting of the 2 lead women as they look suitably crazy/whorish/evil
xxixii's rating:
Oh god I should have known better as its a David Lynch film - so its going to be arty incomprehensible bullshit dressed up as some deep meaning thing by critics - apart from the camerawork its piss poor seriously - oh one freaky bit with the hairy witch/dark thing suddenly appearing near the start is a half decent wtf moment
ps I have no real idea why this nonsense is classified as a mindfuck and a horror xxixii's rating:
This starts of okay and 2/3 of the way through is excellent with an Oh.My.Fucking.God moment - enjoyable but a bit erratic - would have been better if they made the action sequences a bit more comprehensible. Worth watching - sort of Evil Dead meets The Thing
xxixii's rating:
I thought this was a re-make of Brit thriller The Hole but its a strange thing a bit like It - too blatant and obvious to be remotely scary. It seems to have ignored the last 2 decades of horror where the standards have been raised highly - a cheese fest to be honest, very Spielbergian in the worst sense

I just posted a list of 100 Horror Movies I have seen(how do I link to it?) - In general I prefer modern movies, I dont like sequels (Is anyone that interested in seeing Romero do another zombie movie? or the billointh Scream?) or US remakes of foreign horror ( Funny Games is the exception as I saw that in the US version) - I like original viewpoints so things like Pontypool and Cube are welcome
Love Hausu and Versus.
Recommendations: Cemetery Man (AKA Dellamorte Dellamore), Black Sheep (2006), Dead Alive, Fido, Bubba Ho-tep, House of 1000 Corpses, From Dusk Till Dawn, and Maniac
