A private detective named Mark Higbie is on the trail of a murderer whose mutilated and predominantly male victims are found encased in silken cocoons. He eventually tracks the killer's path to Los Angeles, where he discovers an old legend about a woman transforming herself into a human-sized black widow spider and preying on victims during the full moon.
