OnionJack, all you need to do is, use a background pictures with a very large resolution 1920x1200 or larger and it will be displayed fullscreen on most monitors.

Thanks for the tip, I may look into it a little later. I'm knocking up a frame for a new list at the moment. It's been on hold while we corrected all our lists that were spoilt by the new 538 maximum width allowance.

Edit: Nope, quickly tried a test page and while it may have been viewable to you... it would have appeared large and out of place to me... and it's more important to me that my profile looks nice to me. I could focus, as I did on the last version, on just the left side of the screen, but then where's the progress in that? I think 1366 is pretty standard anyway.

I think I can live with the new profiles, actually. As already mentioned, having a few more color options, especially for text, would be nice. But overall I'm starting to get used to the new set up.

One of the things I'd personally love to see is being able to set the height for each component on the profile... I personally don't need a comments section that extends over the majority of the profile, and I don't want a super tall updates section either. I'd rather be able to set a pixel height and have it turn to a scroll.

I'd also really like to be able to set the lists that show up in that component. It's always been that it shows the most recently updated five, and I still like that as an option, but I'd also really like to be able to choose the five that get put on there.

But overall, I'm becoming more okay with the new profile as I get more used to having it look different.

EDIT: I'd also really like to have the profile picture and video gallery links put back into the header. :3

To ease my concern, will all the features which have been removed be reinstated again, because I have to say I'm not a huge fan of the new blander and less personal profiles.

OK,...I figured out what was up with the front page promotions: when I first logged on with the "new" version, I was asked to make preferences. I thought I was selecting my preferences,...instead, I DE-selected them. It might have been helpful to mention what the green outline on the choices meant!

The problem with the old profile system was that it made it possible to create messy unreadable profiles, it also created a jarring user experience by for example going from a mainly white page to completely black profile.

I will look into adding more customization options as long as this can be done without creating unreadable profiles.

Bug/Feature update today:

- Fixed friends requests
- Fixed bookmarklet
- Added some restrictions on adding items (e.g. no adding items using listal urls)
- Added collection stats at the top of category pages (direct linked to watched movies, wanted movies etc)
- Restored Read books and Played games buttons
- Added promoted/recent lists on the new category pages.

I think a lot of users really liked being able to customize their profile, so it would be nice to continue allowing those options. It's tough to have to give up a part of the site that you really like, so I understand why some users are upset. I personally, don't really care, but it means a lot to other users. Hopefully some options for customization will be added in the future.

Second that Major. The most watched feature is what made me come to this site in the first place. I can't even check it out on individual pages.

BTW, I do like the Collection Stats on top of My Movies page. Lot of useful information in a narrow space: 1172 Watched - 74 Wanted - 608 rated Content Stats: 39 Reviews - 37 Lists - 258 Tags

I think there's a little bug in "Recently Added" movies, though.
The grey caption under each movie says "Wanted", but it should read "Watched", as I set them to Watched.
Same issue in My TV Shows.

'sides, I really feel the new site needs more explaining, help, examples, hints... or the new features are not going to be understood.

For instance, the new "Not Interested" and "Remove" buttons look like riddles! What's their purpose? Not interested in what? Remove from what?

I believe that the "Not Interested" button removes an item from your "Recommendations", while "Remove" removes it from your "Collections". Neither of them remove it from your Custom Lists. AFAIK.

I noticed one bug: When I look in "My TV Shows", there are the recently added TV Shows at the top. These are all marked as "Wanted", but in fact they are watched and not wanted. When cklicking on "View more" they are all correctly marked as "Watched".

Edit: The O.P. already mentioned the problem above.

I third the motion to bring back the "Most Watched Actors & Actresses" feature.

There's a bug in ' My Music ' too ... recently rated items don't appear among my music ...

In the "Notes Large Image" display mode, the notes width is more than 600px, but when I try to post picture 600px wide, it is automatically set to 500px. And it just doesn't look good with the blank space on the right. If I center this resized image, it doesn't look good either. :/

Try adding 'width=538full' to the image code.

It's strange though, I just tried to set picture 650px, it wasn't resized, even 601px wide picture wasn't resized. Only when I set it 600px, it becomes smaller, after page is reloaded. Must be some kind of bug.

@Emberlin, my first suggestion was also going to be "center it," but if that doesn't work, I'm outside of my element when it comes to HTML.

I agree that 'Most Watched Actors and Actresses' beyond the top ten should be brought back. Also, it would be nice if I had the freedom I used to have for choosing the first image to be seen in my list previews. Many features that were useful before have been removed. These are completely unnecessary, frustrating, and inconvenient changes.

I tried to upload a picture for this actor, Arthur Jarrett, but the profile will not load.

Am I the only one who wants the old 1 column view back? Without it I don't see any way to add tags to movies without navigating directly to each movie page, one at a time. This is incredibly cumbersome.

And what about the ability to filter your movie lists by more than one tag?

Just posting in the thread like others that I preferred the previous way that profiles looked.

Also, while looking for a picture of how profiles looked before the site upgrade, all that I came up with is this gross junk.
Listal profile search

I hope Tom will bring back the profile information: age, gender, country, last activity. These are important infos for me, which I don't want to miss.

So I tried to create a profile for a person before the bookmarklet got fixed. Now that it's apparently fixed I tried again, and it says the profile has been added already. The profile shows up in a search, but the link is broken. Could this be fixed?

EDIT: I'm really getting confused on how to add people in general. The "add an item" bookmarklet thing isn't very clear. What if I don't have an outside link to somewhere and only have a name of someone? It doesn't even officially say in the add area that you need a link, it just says "title" and description and category.

There are so many messed up/invalid profiles now :( It's getting way to confusing.

ETA: I miss the profile info too. It looks so empty without it.

@ Tom, the issue I had above later resolved itself but I've noticed it still remains for a lot of actors who don't yet have a profile picture. I am unable to view the following page:

Some problems I noticed that are still present:

1. The link to "view mine" on an actor's profile is wrong. - When I try to see what I've watched from an actor, it gives a link that is like:

www.listal.com/owned/movies/1/?mactor=Errol+Flynn when it should be like "username.listal.com/...."

2. The list thumbnails don't work correctly - When I have a list where the top item has an image on the list, I can't put the poster image for a movie as the list thumbnail. This looks horrible in movie lists where the majority of the pictures posted are widescreen images and they are cropped to the thumbnail where there used to be the poster image for the top item. (If thumbnail was set on default). This worked correctly after the Listal update and started happening just a few days ago.

3. I can't arrange my friendlist the way I want to - Not sure if this is intended or not, but some of my friends are the people I know and some are just Listal users I have spoken with once. It would be nice to be able to arrange them as everyone sees fit.

4. Adding an item to a list won't show up in the update feed of the item. - If I add a movie to a movie list from the "Rearrange & add items" button on the list itself, it won't show up in the update feed that is shown on the movie's Listal item page. So it will not show that "X added this item to a list" if I use the "Rearrange & add items" button.

Thanks for pointing out these problems. They are the exact 4 that are bothering me most right now. I hope you listing them like that leads to fixes for each soon. With your post, you've just made one of the most useful lists I've seen in awhile. =)

Confirming that this doesn't work here either.

A character would be more interesting with an overall rating and the users who've rate it, also some sorting options for characters would be great, like best rated and bottom rated.
