“To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Kristen Stewart and since it was available on Disney+, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, even if the damned thing was seriously derivative, it was actually not bad at all. Basically, it was very similar to ‘Alien’ except that it was taking place at the bottom of the ocean, not really much more than that, but I thought it was actually quite effective. First of all, I have to admit that I was rather surprised that the mayhem did start right away. Spring 2021 Viewings (29 movies items)"Format: Streaming Viewing: 1st Thoughts: I decided to give this movie a try because I've always been a big fan of these type of movies. The movie has a nice intro and buildup and I really like Kristin Stewart in this role (despite not really caring for anything else she's done). Movies the giraffe watched in 2021: January (42 movies items)"First viewing - Jan. 1st I really, really had no interest in Underwater, but then some of the critics I pay attention to kept insisting it was worth seeing. And aside from some of the Lovecraftian creature designs, I don't think it was.
