“To be honest, I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but since it was starring Catherine Deneuve, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, I thought it was not bad at all, even if it never really became much more than that. In my opinion, the main issue was that, even though most of it was fairly interesting, there were just too many ideas and sub-plots involved and most of them were as a result really half-baked. Let’s take Claire, the main character, for example. She was a midwife, the clinic she was working for was closing, her son was dropping out of medical school and was having a baby, his father was unknown and she just met a new guy. Movies viewed in 2017 (338 movies items)"11/9/17 French drama with Catherine Frot as a woman who encounters Catherine Deneuve, the former mistress to her father, wanting to make amends as she is slowly dying. This slow moving yet impressively simple tale is all the more enjoyable for the performances from the two leads, who find they bounce off each other well. Not earth-shattering but still a gentle, relaxed view."
