The Magnificent Seven update feed
"The Magnificent Seven is an excellent movie for what it is trying to be - an old school western. With The Magnificent Seven remake, director Antoine Fuqua, clearly decides to keep with the style of the original 1960 movie, which was itself a remake of the Kurosawa classic, The Seven Samurai. After an incredibly tense opening, the remaining first third of the film is a slow buildup (perhaps a little too slow for some viewers), as the director introduces the main characters. However, once the full"
"Watched 09/25/2016 Rating 6.5/10 Format: Theater A remake of a remake so that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about the overall quality of the movie. Antoine Fuqua directs this star studded action western remake but unlike its predecessors this version of The Magnificent Seven isnt really that magnificent rather its more so just The Average Seven. I will say though is that i did like the action in it Fuqua seems to know how to direct his action sequences and despite its faults"
"Teatterissa pitkästä aikaa. Onhan tämä stoori jo nähty parinkiin otteeseen ja remaken tarkoitusta mietin kovin. Odotuksiin nähden oli tosin oikein viihdyttävää nähdä läjä jengiä kuolemassa tahi räjähtämässä. Ja sitä jengiä oli muuten paljon. Parempi kuin oletin."
"Enjoyable action -western with good cast. The action is shot and edited beautifully. Denzel was reminding me of Fred Williamson and that's a plus."

"Nothing magnificent about this film, it really is average in every way, forgettable characters, the redone plot poorly done from the first Magnificent Seven or the original Seven Samurai with a mustache twirling villain. The two main gunfights are entertaining enough as an action piece but as the people in the film are just cardboard cutouts it was hard to really care about what was going on, no tension to be had. Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt were the best in the film naturally, Denzel has "
" 9.22Antoine Fuqua's remake of the Yul Brynner classic which is also an American remake of Seven Samurai, is a more violent update and is also as star-studded (highlight the "stud"). Led by Training Day alumni Denzel and Ethan Hawke, it is a fantasized, racially-complete gang-slingers, action fare that's enjoyable enough but lacks on heavy moments and deep character focus that it missed on being a good revisionist Western. Which incidentally, would have been Fuqua's mastery. "
