"July 28 I was interested in this movie by the trailer I saw for it and considering the rave reviews it has been getting, I decided to check it out and it actually lives up to the hype. It's a refreshing look at such a tired genre and proves that good rom-coms can still be made. I thought the storyline was well-done and knowing nothing about it going in mate it more surprising. The humor was great as well and most of the jokes hit bullseyes here while still being serious when it needs to be. T"
"First viewing - July 9th Best new-to-me film for July I kicked off my Sunday morning with another trip to the theatre, this time with far better results than the day before. I don't want to go into too much detail about the film (go watch the trailer if you haven't yet & are curious), but I will say that it almost earned a perfect score from me & it's just the kind of film I needed today. Looking forward to seeing it again more than a few times."

"It does frustratingly follow some of the rom-com conventions, but the film is a highly intelligent, and even mature comedy, making it the rare comedy that is genuinely poignant. 8.8/10"
"23/7/17 Don't let the title of this genuinely funny comedy put you off. The Big Sick is charming and sweet natured and has more laughs than most American comedies of late. Kumail Ninjiani is terrific as, well, himself, as he falls for Zoe Kazan who then falls into a coma. More about family and culture than an out-and-out rom-com, this is a crowd pleaser of the highest order. Recommended."
"When: July 21st First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: In theaters. What'd I Think?: Twisty rom-com is smart and clever, but a touch too long. My Rating: 9/10 Other Notes: NA."
