A very good movie

“Since I kept hearing some really good things about this movie, I was really eager to check it out. On top of that, I have enjoyed all the movies directed by Denis Villeneuve that I have seen so far, so I had some rather high expectations concerning this movie. Well, eventually, even though I thought it was really good, I have to admit that it didn't completely blow me away though. I mean, it was definitely a strong production, no doubt it, with a great cast, a very solid directing and one of the best stories about the war on drugs I have seen for a very long time. While watching this, somehow, I couldn't stop thinking about all the people going on holidays in Mexico. I mean, how could you go there to have some fun when you are aware of all the atrocities going on in this country? So, it wa” read more

Top 10 best movies 2015 (20 movies items)

" Notes: Well, eventually, even though I thought it was really good, I have to admit that it didn't completely blow me away though. I mean, it was definitely a strong production, no doubt it, with a great cast, a very solid directing and one of the best stories about the war on drugs I have seen for a very long time. So, it was definitely some strong and dark material and, yet, something bothered me about the damned thing though. Basically, you are pretty much like Emily Blunt's character, they "

“Villeneuve is way ahead of the tired screenplay about who is riogth who is wrong in the figth against narcos. Emily acts as an idiot. Never understands what is all about. But I like the 'personification' of Ciudad Juarez 'the beast', and Del Toro is ok.” read more

“This was intense. So much so that it made me kind of uncomfortable. I was squirming in my seat. And it was extremely dark. Not color wise, but the subject matter. Villeneuve really knows how to take the most vile subjects and turn them into wholly compelling cinema.” read more

"19.3. Muutamat kaverit oli Sicariota kehuneet joten jostain hetken mielenjohteesta tämä päätettiin pienessä porukassa katsella. Sicarion juoni ei oikeastaan ole mitään sen kummoisempaa, eikä näyttelijät mitään erityisen muistettavia rooleja vedä. Etenkin Emily Bluntin tylsä puupökkelörooli on todella unohdettava. Kaiken tämän keskellä elokuvan kuitenkin pelastaa tekninen osaaminen. Elokuva on kuvattu todella upeasti niin, että tätä oli vain ilo katsella ohuesta juonesta h"

"1. March ---- An intense as all hell film that's on the verge of becoming a pure horror film at any moment. Violent, grim, pulse-pounding and really well-made, I loved every second of it. "

Predicting the Winners of the 2016 Oscars (21 movies items)

"And the nominees are... *Roger Deakins- Sicario *Edward Lachman- Carol *Emmanuel Lubezki- The Revenant *Robert Richardson- The Hateful Eight *John Seale- Mad Max: Fury Road And the Oscar goes to... This one really looks like Chivo's to lose. These are all excellent candidates, but The Revenant is just on another level here. If there's gonna be a spoiler, it'd likely be Deakins, who's on his 13th nomination without a win, of Seale, who came out of retirement to shoot one of the most visually"
