" I can understand why so many people dislike this movie. I’ve never read the book but I can tell at the least that it is a very “modern” period drama. The costumes, mannerisms, and speech are not in line with the era. It doesn’t have the same romantic class or charm most period dramas have. I have to say I did enjoy the semi A Series of Unfortunate Events vibe in the beginning and her breaking the fourth wall. It was a cute dynamic. In general, I’m not a fan of Dakota Johnson’s acti"
