“I really enjoyed the first movie. So when I found out they were making a second one I was pretty excited. The trailer was pretty cool. I was curious how they could up the ante here. I took a bit long to get to finally see it. From what I've heard from friends and such is that is as good if not better than the first one. Of course there are naysayers. Now Jon Chu is a weird choice to direct this. He mostly does music related movies like Step Up 2 and 3 as well as awful Justin Bieber concert films. He even did the G.I. Joe sequel. Anyways it will definitely be interesting to see what he does here. Ed Solomon returns as the screenwriter. He has always been enjoyable from the few movies I have seen of his. This is only the second film written by Peter Chiarelli. Anyways let's see what they cou” read more
"Bad writing. Promises twists, tricks and secret societies but it's all really rather dull and ridiculous. One of their tricks includes a long scene of them passing a card between each other. You have to completely suspend believability and not ask questions. Lizzy Caplan is so wasted as the "girl horseman" I could scream. The only good part about this film was surprisingly Daniel Radcliffe. I haven't seen a movie I liked him in in a long time but he does comedically evil very well. "
"It fixed some of the original's problems, like having characters you can root for, has new problems the first didn't have, like shaky action sequences and basic script mistakes, and has many of the same virtues, such as a smooth, slick look, and as such this is a mixed bag, but ultimately is an entertaining ride. 7.0/10"
"It's just like the first movie basically..it takes you into the mind of magic tricks and just how easy, hard and confusing and well timed it can be. It's interesting to see just how they do it, because we keep forgetting it's all fake and not real. This movie is magic mixed with a robbery heist all combined into one. All the actors return, excluding Isla Fisher. This time we have a lady played by Lizzy Caplan who, to an extent replaces Isla Fisher. She's actually really funny and charming, to sa"
"When: June 20th First-Time Viewing: Yes. How: In theaters. What'd I Think?: Smooth, slick, just as flawed and entertaining as the first one. My Rating: 7/10 Other Notes: NA."
"I disliked the first one immensely so I wasn't expecting much here... and i didn't get much either. I suppose it was actually an improvement over the first one as it didn't irritate me to the extent that the original. However it was also much more boring as well. The film did manage to oudo the ridiculousness of the first one though, to the extend of being outright stupid. Congrats? It wasn't terrible but as Jeremy Jahns would put it I'll forget about it in a couple days or so. Meh."
"Critics: 35% Audiences: 68% Consensus: Now You See Me 2 packs in even more twists and turns than its predecessor, but in the end, it has even less hiding up its sleeve."
