"Timothy Dalton's last outing as Bond is an underrated gem. As an old friend is left for dead by an evil drug baron, Bond is stripped of his licence to kill and goes it alone to seek revenge, finding himself needing help from unlikely sources. This a Bond beyond its time which is why they decided to move on from Dalton, although this would have been a perfect film in the Daniel Craig years. The set pieces and stuntwork is, as usual, top-notch and Gladys Knight's theme song is one of the best."
