"January 3rd Directed by: Ari Aster So meticulously crafted that even where I found the writing to be lazy turns out to be a subversion. The writer really went out of his way to solidify the themes and use them effectively, sparingly throughout, making the story rife with satisfying moments of realization. I really couldn't ask more from a horror movie, there's an embarrassment of riches when it comes to gruesome imagery. It's genuinely intriguing, horrifying and exciting. Despite all of this I"
