(OK) Sembene viaja en el tiempo, aunque en el Senegal tribal no se note tanto, salvo por la marca de la esclavitud, la presencia del blanco y el histrionismo de los díalogos y retos (la lanza del reto es un personaje más) , la normalidad histórica de la muerte y de la venta de su propia gente como esclavos,y de a tribu que se exilia para evitar la violencia
