Ten years into his small-town, storybook romance with Abby, Hank suddenly wakes up to an empty home. With nothing but a cryptic note to explain why she left, Hank’s charmed life begins to fall apart. To make matters worse, Abby’s disappearance seems to trigger the arrival of a ferocious creature that crawls out of the old grove on the edge of his property.

My Top 275 Favorite Horror Movies of All Time (275 movies items)

"  Okay, so After Midnight may be considered by many film aficionados as being more of a psychological drama than a horror, but when the horror finally does show up, there can be very little disagreement that it is quite a happy and somewhat surprising result to see that the story actually"went there".  I don't mean to be overly vague about it, but this is one of those instances in which, for spoilers' sake, the less said about Midnight's plot, the better. What I will say is that the way the s"

"Pleasantly surprising romance horror written and directed by Jeremy Gardner, who's style reminded me a lot of Aaron Moorhead's and Justin Benson's films. Leaning more on drama and romance elements than in horror, using great dialogue and acting which was executed very entertainingly without the known cheesiness. The mystical creature and therefore the horror element, was left lurking on a background in a form of scratching and banging a front door at nights, only to show his appearance until the"

" Date: 7/5/2020 Viewed: Amazon Prime Rental First Viewing Note: I've seen some positive buzz for this movie on the web and decided to check it out. After renting the movie on Amazon Prime, I have mixed feelings for this movie. I do think it's a very well-made movie and the acting is solid in my opinion. They did a great job of making a very suspenseful movie because the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat on seeing what will happen next. You also have some decent special effects as we"

Movies the giraffe watched in 2020: April (33 movies items)

"First viewing - April 9th After Midnight comes to us courtesy of Jeremy Gardner, who also gave us The Battery. Once again it was put on my radar thanks to Benson & Moorhead, and Justin Benson even has a supporting role in it. It's a well-crafted film all around, and I wound up absolutely loving it. I don't want to say too much about it since few have seen it at this point, but if you're into horror at all it's worth your time. Rent it if you have to."
