When Censors Get Stupid 2

Nicky Santoro (Joe Pesci) calls Sam Rothstein (Robert DeNiro) a "Jew motherfucker." In the TV version, it is changed to "Jew money lover."
How the fuck were they able to create a safe for American TV version of this movie?

Have you heard some of the FCC-friendly dialogue in SVU? One good example is the fraternity episode when the college guy said that the pledge master put the paddle handle "in me". Does any real-life college guy actually talk like that? In real life, it would probably be "He stuck the paddle up my ass."
There's no censorship like self-censorship.

Interesting fact: In the episode "Russian Love Poem", a Russian guy (or was he Ukrainian or a Russophone Jew?) says "Сука Блять" (the approximate equivalent of "fucking bitch").

The early versions of Mortal Kombat on game systems had pathetic, bowdlerized fatalities. How fucking stupid. The usual idiots say that violent video games contribute to real violence. There is more real violence inspired by religion than by video games, but banning or censoring religion is, of course, a bad idea. Banning religion, violent video games or guns is just a shitty idea that never works. When will people learn?

I don't know if this counts as censorship, but it's pretty fucking stupid. There was a Russian character called Vodka Drunkenski, whose name was changed to Soda Popinski. Why? Did they really think that the game would encourage kids to drink alcohol?

Or did they think that Russians would be offended? Either way, the change is so stupid!

Today, I was watching the Godfather on TV. I noticed that, in the scene in which Moe Green talks to Michael Corleone, "God damn" is replaced by "lousy" and "ass" by "butt". Yet, when Sonny used the N word, it wasn't censored. Is the word ass really that offensive?

Is it just me, or does it look like pasta sauce pouring from Moe Green's eye socket?

I remember seeing the censored version on TV. When Gary Oldman would say "shit", it was changed into "shoot". Yet the violence was absolutely no problem.

Not that long ago, I was watching Deadpool on regular TV with my brother and his kids. I can understand why the word "fuck" would be censored out. However, the "moral guardians" went berserk this time. "Shoot" instead of "shit" and "heck" instead of "hell"?
It's American values gone berserk again! Do these Bible-thumping morons really think that kids haven't heard such "offensive" language before?

This has got to be one of the weirdest ones ever. In one scene, Clark Griswald supposedly says "Darn it all!", yet the words and his lips don't match. The weird part is that it is the original pre-TV version.
