Outlander - Diana Gabaldon
Jamie Fraser
What does he do to earn this title?
1. He marries a strange Englishwoman who is clearly out of her time simply because it's the only way he knows that he can protect her.
2. He sacrifices himself again and again to protect that Englishwoman in spite of the fact that she clearly is trying to get away from him on several occasions.
3. He blindly believes a story that is WAY past the point of imagination in the time that they're living in, just because said Englishwoman swears it's true.
4. He's a long haired, red headed, six-pack bearing, Scottish brogue sporting, kilt wearing Highlander. If nothing else, that's enough to win him a "better than normal" lable!
(And that's only the FIRST book, mind you!)
