THE RESULTS ARE IN!!! These are your RS picks (official) for the Top Albums of 2017. [NOTE--The only entry I could not upload was Celebrate Ornette by Ornette Coleman. There was no Listal listing, no Amazon listing. The albums by the two Gallagher bros. were a 'tie' entry.]
Not quite To Pimp a Butterfly. I couldn't believe this made #1, out of all other records RS could pick. Then again, the first time I listened to this I probably wasn't in the right mindset. It was during a time of high pressure. STILL, I remember when I first saw the LP in stores, I just had a funny feeling in my gut that no matter what... THIS would make the #1 cut!?!
I have a friend who's a big Lorde fan. When I first listened to it, I was unfamiliar with some of Lorde's previous work--which I'm soon to be checking out--so I didn't quite have the confidence to accurately make up my mind, whether I liked this album, was it good-was it bad? If I did like it, how much?... Guess I'll have to give it a second listen.
DUDES, what did I tell you? RS has an erection the size of the space-needle for U2. I heard this one was a double LP? Shit, someone puncture my eardrums 4 me please...
I was actually surprised by how good this record was when I first listened 2 it. Would I say it was one of the best of the year?... weeell, I haven't quite finished listening to everything else from the year. Still, I'm not surprised RS picked it.

Every year Rolling Stone Magazine releases their picks for the year end Top 50 Albums of the past year. Even though their choices are usually, pretty 'snobby', still, being the pretentious listophile that I am--I thought I'd take a stab at trying to anticipate their selections. Keep in mind this isn't what I think should make the cut, this is just what I'm expecting they'll like, based on word of mouth and prior MO...
