Of cource, they fall in love but try to be like they wouldn't like eachother at least that much.

Pochenco doesn't know human rights etc, but luckily, love finds the way and he even shave his Stalin moustache and wears Yves Saint Laurent instead of a starched uniform in the end of the movie. (By the way, I really love this film!)
