Chrono Trigger - Super famicom and SNES
This was the game that got me into playing RPGs, and Chrono Trigger is my favorite RPG of all time. It has an awesome story, great graphics (for its time), and good music. I still pop it in once a month and play through it; just never gets old. I consider it the Citizen's Kane of RPG's.
King of Dragons - Super famicom and SNES
The best beat'em up on the SNES. The leveling up and playable characters are awesome! Also the game play is great with easy controls and lots of enemies that re-spawn continuously; making it an action packed beat'em up that ceases to get old. If you love beat'em ups like me, this game is a must own for your SNES collection.
Super Metroid - Super famicom and SNES
A dark and mysterious platformer/shooter with brilliant puzzles, graphics, and epic boss battles. This is a game that once I turn it on I have to play it for at least an hour, it's very addicting. Also the power ups that help you progress through the game are great and make for fun and rewarding gameplay.
Super Mario World - Super famicom and SNES
I love this game! Not only do I love it, but when friends see I own an SNES, Super Mario World is the most requested game they ask to play. Its just so much fun to play through and it actually makes me happier when I play it. The music is iconic and the gameplay is simply outstanding. It was the first video game I played on the SNES and I still think it is one of the best.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars - Super famicom and SNES
I was surprised by not only how much fun this game actually was, but by how great of an RPG this game actually is. This is a very fun game to play though that introduces you to some cool characters that are only seen on this game. The funny story also makes this game one of my Favorite RPG's, and gives the Mario genre a breath of fresh air. I think this is the best mario RPG ever made.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles IV: Turtles In Time... - Super famicom and SNES
Best TMNT Beat'em up...nuff said
Secret of Mana - Super famicom and SNES
Awesome RPG with a great co-op multiplayer mode? - Yes, and its name is Secret of Mana. Some don't like the fighting system, and I'll admit it takes a little getting use to but I love his game.
Super Bomberman 2 - Super famicom and SNES
This game is soo addicting...why I have no idea. I can put this game in and play it for hours upon hours by myself. However, add a few friends and this game will cause an all nighter from it's epic multiplayer battles. One of my favorite multiplayer video games ever. Even my friends who are not into video games love multiplayer bomberman; it's a thing of beauty.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past - Super famicom and SNES
Most Zelda games are great and this is no exception. The story is good, the maps are intense, and music is great, the game play is fun, and above all beating the games is very gratifying with a good ending. I consider it the second best Zelda game ever made behind Ocarina of Time for the N64. Its also the last of the top down view gameplay.
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island - Super famicom and SNES
I really didn't want to like this game, i fought myself from getting it for years because it was different and cute/innocent looking...mario was a screaming baby. However, the game is fun, very fun in fact. I found out I like shooting eggs at objects making them crumble. The game play and graphics are great the game is awesome and I was wrong. However, I still think the whole baby mario thing is lame but thats just me.
Contra III: The Alien Wars - Super famicom and SNES
Awesome shoot'em up, actually my favorite on the SNES. Why...well great co-op, ridiculous boss battles, sweet guns (except for laser), its a run and gun masterpiece! The music is ok, it could be better, and the game is fairly difficult to beat, other than that, its time to lock and load!
Super Castlevania IV - Super famicom and SNES
This game is amazing! The music is great, its so memorable and it makes me want to whip spooky stuff to death. The game play is addicting, and the level design is awesome. However, even though the graphics were good for the time, I feel that the game looks grainy or dull, if it had better graphics it would be a top 10 game for me for sure.
Final Fight 3 - Super famicom and SNES
This is the best Final Fight of the series. It has great graphics, awesome characters to choose from, and intense gameplay. The special moves in this game are the best in the series, rejuvenating the game. It is a stellar beat'em up, but compared to its arch rival (Streets of Rage) it falls short. Still love this game though, Mayor Haggard is the man!
Sunset Riders - Super famicom and SNES
The second best run and gun/shoot'em up on the SNES in my opinion. The game is funny and has awesome gun power-ups . The characters are great but the two characters with the shotguns are the best. Its also one of the only memorable wester theme games on the SNES . Its a tough game to beat but it's a lot of fun to play.
Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest - Super famicom and SNES
This is the best Donkey Kong of the series to me, just barely, and I mean barely beating out the original; the third is hokey. Great music, introduction of dixie kong, amazing platformer, cool level designs, awesome graphics, and the ability to throw diddy kong. I have never met a single person who didn't like playing a donkey kong game, they could get mad at the game for being tricky/difficult, but never hated it. I mean who doesn't like monkeys?
Knights of the Round - Super famicom and SNES
This is a outstanding beat'em up, but is falls short of what King of Dragons is...(just barely tho). The games have the same sort of mid evil hack n slash - beat'em up theme, except all of the playable characters are knights. Great graphics, gameplay suffers from some slowdown, but intense and awesome beat'em up action. It's a great game ....just not as good as King of Dragons.
Super Punch-Out!! - Super famicom and SNES
Super Punch-Out is amazing! The characters to box against are very funny, the game play is difficult, and the graphics are great. Even though the game is difficult it begs to be played again and again as you progress and learn the patterns to beat your opponents. The music could be better I feel but other than that it is definitely one of my favorite SNES games.
Zombies Ate My Neighbors - Super famicom and SNES
One of the best co-op games on the SNES. The campiness of the theme and music is great, the gameplay is simplistic but very addicting, the level design get ridiculously challenging, and the game is just oddly funny. The game probably would have sold more if the changed the box art to look more like contra III, but thats why the game is great; it's a funny, campy, original masterpiece that will torture your soul with gaming anxiety looking for the last neighbor to save.
Ninja Warriors - Super famicom and SNES
Original awesome beat'em up! I feel like Taito hired some guy/kid like Tom Hanks from "Big" and asked him what he thought was awesome. He must have answered Ninjas, Jet packs, Cyborgs, round house kicks, and bombs. This game has all of that and some great graphics to go along with it. The only thing about this game is that the boss battles are not that great; other than that I give it an "A" and a number 19 spot on my top 25 SNES games.
Street Fighter II Turbo - Super famicom and SNES
This to me is the best street fighter on the SNES. I love that it has virtually no lag and has better graphics and sound then the Genesis version. This is also one of those games that people ask to play when they see I have an SNES. Street Fighter games are legendary, and adding the turbo edition just made the game better then the original SF2. If you love fighting games, this one is a must own for the SNES.
Final Fantasy III (VI) - Super famicom and SNES
I know some people are thinking, why is this game so low on your list, it's awesome. Well it is, but I just don't love it like I do Chrono Trigger or Super Mario RPG. And Secret of Mana has multi player, this has, well, great game play and cinematic features, but I feel like it is trying to hard. I mean the singing?!?! The story is very good...but to me it is just another Final Fantasy game....I know, you hate me
Mega Man X - Super famicom and SNES
Very fun, challenging, and awesome power-ups. I think the intro level is a little slow but after that the game is great. I'll admit I have actually never played X3 but I have played MegaMan 7 and Mega Man X2 and I prefer MegaMan X. As for right now this is my favorite Mega Man on the SNES.
F-Zero - Super famicom and SNES
This is a hallmark of SNES, if you don't have this game for the SNES then I pity you. I think this is one of the best racers on the system. It has FX chip graphics, awesome music, intense racing gameplay, and it is very simplistic to play. Who does not like racing super fast space ships on the most dangerous tracks in the galaxy. The only thing I wish was in this game was more of a story, I think that would make this game a lot better, but that just might be me.
Kirby Super Star - Super famicom and SNES
Personally I think this is the best kirby game on the SNES. There are like 5 different types of games to play and most of them are a lot of fun. The power ups are really cool and make gameplay a lot more fun. However the best Kirby game in my opinion is on the original game boy, Kirby's Dream Land. Kirby superstar is a lot of fun to play though.
Rock N' Roll Racing - Super famicom and SNES
The music and customization of the cars is what make this game awesome. The game play is pretty easy and and graphics are fairly good too. This game is more fun to play in single player mode than Mario Kart in my opinion. Mario Kart would have made it on this list, however the N64 mario kart is leaps and bounds better than the SNES version. So Rock N Roll Racing beat it to be the last entry on my top 25 list.
Here are my top 25 favorite Super Nintendo Games, Enjoy!
