Infernal Affairs (2004)
If you thought that The Departed was excellent (and it is!) this is the movie that it was based upon. Excellent acting and writing make this one of those must see foreign films.

Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2005)
Chan-wook Park's first film in his "revenge" trilogy. This is the tale of a kidnapping gone completely wrong. There a scenes in this movie that actually make you feel sympathy (sorry for the pun) for the bad guy. Great film!

Lady Vengeance (2006)
The third film in Chan-wook Park's revenge trilogy. It may not be the strongest film in the trilogy, but still worth a viewing. A lady is taken advantage of and wants to extract revenge simply put. The ending is one of the more interesting endings in the trilogy. I didn't say the best ending just different.

Night Watch (2006)
Based on the Russian novel "Nochnoy Dozor" this movie is about the never ending battle between good and evil. I know that sounds cliched and it is, but this movie takes a new approach by blending vampires, warlocks, etc. into the mix.
Fact: "Nochnoy Dozor" is the #1 box-movie of all time in Russia.

Berserk - Season One (The Complete Collection)... - Artist Not Provided
I know this list is about movies, but "Berserk" is a must see. Guts (pronounced Gats) is a mercenary (for lack of better words) who gets taken under the wing of a group of bandits (again for lack of better words). The leader of the group Griffin constantly says that he wants it all and will stop at noting to get it.
Guts is the better fighter, but Griffin has the battle savvy and leadership and the shift of power shifts...and that's only the beginning.
A must see...especially if you are an Japanime fan.

Sad tale of WWII bombings of Japan told through the eyes of a brother who takes care of his younger sibling.
I am not ashamed to admit I cried on this movie.

Employee of the Month (2006)
One of my favorite dark comedy type movies. It sorta reminds me of "Falling Down" mixed with some elements of "Wild Things". (filling in some of the movie to where it makes even more sense at the end of the movie.)
Cool movie.
Cool movie.

One freshman class is sent to an island. No not for some class trip, but to kill each other. Each student gets one duffel bag containing bottled water, a map, and a random weapon. Some are fortunate and receive and Uzi while others may receive a tennis racket.
Also each student is collared and if the device is tampered with it explodes (it also doubles as a tracking device). Yep awesome class trip indeed.
The last student alive gets...to stay alive.
What!? Not even a 4.0 GPA for the rest of High School!

Poolhall Junkies (2003)
A pool hustler's younger brother wants to emulate him and get in debt with the wrong people (of course!). Yes the story is that simplistic, but the coolness that this movie does exuberant is undeniable. The soundtrack also plays a major part in setting the mood in "Poolhall Junkies".
Oh, and no movie can hurt with Christopher Walken in it. To bad no even he could save "Domino".

*bows head in shame*
Check out my review for this movie. I know, I know shameless self promotion.

Oldboy (2005)
Plenty of people heard of this movie. Even more after the tradegy at Virgina Tech in which the media stated that this film was one of the shooters favorite movies. Idiots...
Anyways, the second film in Chan-wook Park's "revenge" trilogy is easily the best of the three. A man is kidnapped and locked in a room for 15 years and then released. Upon his release he is told he has a few days to find out who done this to him and why.
This movie is not for the weak of heart. It contains plenty of controversial scenes. The ending just is like a swift kick in the nuts.
Really it is that damn good and disturbing.

Self explanatory pretty much. Check out these gems that you might have missed. I could be wrong though. Enjoy!
