This movie was interesting. A murder had taken place and the killer hadn't been caught so everyone was suspicious of each other.

I like the concept about him wanting to break away from the clan he was a part of. Tragic, that he was always on the run. I love the girl who liked him. She also stared with him on Sexy Voice and Robo. But this is the movie where Kenichi met his wife Koyuki, and hundreds of fan girls dreams were dashed lol.

This was hard to watch if it wasn't for Kenichi though it's hard to watch him sad or depressed. XD His character falls for a married older lady who seduces him.

This was just pure entertainment, though it did manage to have some heart. 2 Kato's, the real and the alien possessed one. Twice the fun. XD

He wanted to be like an Indie pop singer but somehow became a death metal sensation. He must have Krauser inside him to have the rage to write the lyrics that he does though. lol I love his growly Krasuer voice and how he interacts with his family when he's in character. I like how at one point he says, 'Don't get involved with me, I'm a demon.' XD

Very short role in this movie of shorts. He plays a serial killer who kills only ugly people until a witch curses him and bizarre things start to happen.

I loved him in this movie so much. I can't help but see him as L, which makes it lovelier. It's really Heartwarming. Here we see them looking up at the ceiling because she was afraid of the dark so he put glow in the dark stars all over the ceiling.
Some people didn't like the dances scenes calling them too jarring in the movie, but I LOVE dance and it was a real treat to see Kenichi dance like that.

This cap was from a scene in a Kenichi music video. It was a short clip that made me go 'WTF is that from?!' Then I found Zeni Geba. This was the second role I saw Kenichi in since Death Note, 6 years ago. I was so used to the reserved and unemotional L. His is tale of being irreparably damaged and haunted to unspeakable dirty deeds and murder. It was a real treat, a real treat. Clocking in at 9 episodes, I was always on the edge of my seat waiting for what he'd do next. It's in my 4 favorite performances if his, along with L, and his performances in Bunny Drop and Chasuke's Journey.

I love him in this. The story itself was average bordering on bad but it was really just about L and getting him out of his comfort zone, getting him out in the field, having only himself to depend on, giving him a couple kids to look after and showcasing his adorable mannerisms that seduced fans hearts in Death Note. That's why this movie was made.

My first and only Japanese obsession, until his successor, who I wanted to hate for trying to take his place. But he came in like a tidal wave and destroyed the utter feeling of blasphemy I got when I looked at him, stole my heart like looters during a riot. XD but this post isn't about him. ;)
I love Kenichi as L. I like that he was a suitable rival for someone with a supernatural power. I believe that he only lost because the plot needed him to or it would be more of a 'climatic ending.' One could despise him for not sniping Light, in favor of games and letting the bodies pile up. Given that, I still enjoy his 'by any means necessary' even though it can be unfair or disturbing at times. I like the contrast too; He's so unassuming, disheveled, cute, and wrought with distracting mannerisms that you wouldn't know what lurks beneath.
