This game is severely underrated. Even though it received generally positive reviews around the 8/10, this game is definitely at the 9/10 quality if I were to give it a number. It has incredible replay value, excellent combination of platforming and combat controls, fun quests to do, very good pacing, and has a beautiful soundtrack. When this game released, it did not receive the attention that matched its quality. The remastered HD release is the best way to enjoy this game now.
This game is definitely amongst the greatest Gamecube games of all time, and it did not receive any HD release of any kind. Such a unique and immersive gaming experience with incredible writing, interesting characters, fresh controls, an atmospheric and beautiful soundtrack, and great replay value that must be played 3 times. The low sales do not match its high quality. You must own this game. It's essential.
I am not sure if the new prequel to Beyond Good & Evil is coming out as that game sounds promising, the reason why people are anticipating more announcements is due to the first Beyond Good & Evil. It's an incredible game that received a positive critical reception, but I would argue that it deserves far more credit and the game is clearly overlooked. The quest takes the gamer through a narrative that proves to be just as relevant in our times than ever before. It's all about uncovering the truth while using tools of combat, stealth, and investigative journalism to expose the leadership and inform the citizens. Not many reviewers of this game have highlighted the important progressive message in this amazing game.
Not only that, but the game also has a lovely soundtrack, smooth controls, beautiful art style and animation, addicting stealth and combat, plenty of fun quests to do like taking photos of animals, and great replay value. After saying all this, I am not sure what to expect on the new Beyond Good & Evil. How exactly is it going to surpass this already amazing game? Bigger worlds to explore does not automatically make it better. Is it going to be paced well? Will it be fun to play? Does it offer a powerful message for humanity?
