Games I Beat in 2013

December 6th

I finally did it. I call this my second favorite game ever (behind Majora's Mask) and I had never beaten it until now. Feels good man. Feels fuckin' gooooooood.

November 27th

Another game I beat in one sitting, and for good reason, this game is surprisingly fun. I expected it to be awful and then it turned out to be a decent, moderately challenging 3D platformer. You don't see a lot of these anymore, recommended.

November 23rd

It's actually kind of amazing to me how I never got bored during this game. Combat is really fun, the familiar system is great, almost everything is wonderful. That said, the story is kinda dumb and your A.I. partners are nothing short of absolutely useless. But yeah. Good game.

November 5th

You'd think with the superpowers and all this game would be easier than the insanely easy Saints Row 3, but it's actually a lot harder. The game, while technically being exactly the same as 3 feels completely different, due to new collectibles that are actually pretty fun to get, being able to fly around the city instead of driving, and a few other things. It's arguably more fun than 3, but definitely a way more shallow experience.

I wouldn't want to play through this again, unlike 3.

October 28th

Gets surprisingly old considering how short the experience is, not as many random events as I would have expected or liked. That being said I did have fun, and I have a soft spot for text games.

October 18th

Technically, I was playing this with a group of people passing the wiimote around, BUT I beat the final boss and I don't give a shit, I want to log this moment because doing the dance you see below in front of a bunch of people was too funny for me to forget when I get Alzheimer's next year.

October 13th

After having beaten 2 and 3 countless times I finally got around to this one, and what kept me from playing it before was that I hated it as a kid because you couldn't swim. Now I hate it for completely different reasons. The game is hard, but it never really feels fair hard, there's always the camera or bad control to kill you. This game is easily the weakest of the series in every way, especially level design. The last boss being a glorified egg chase which were probably the least fun part of the game anyway, not cool. I probably would like this game a lot more if I hadn't played the far superior sequels, if I had nothing to compare this to I'd think it's a pretty cool but very flawed platformer.

September 22nd

Actually a great story, Almost everything about this game was fun, there were a few things here and there but there's way too much to be amazed with with this game to focus on the flaws. I guess I can finally get back to watching movies now.

Not really proud of this one. Basically I heard it was a side-scrolling platformer so I figured it'd be fun, and I was right. Super easy, super fast, nice way to kill some time. (and get a bunch of easy achievements)

Yeah, finally played through it all the way. Obvious masterpiece, though I think they improved a lot of small things in the sequel. So good doe.

June 19th

Every level offered something unique and sometimes moderately challenging. The depth perception worked exactly as they intended, the camera was great. This is 3D Mario done right. Finally.

June 7th

Uncharted was basically Tomb Raider and now Tomb Raider is basically Uncharted. But you all know Uncharted is mega rad, and I would actually say this is a tad better. Really great game, perfect length, had my attention the whole way through.

Probably the most fun you can have online with a video game. Beat this with three other people and it was absolutely hilarious. Despite the glitches, I think this is a really good game, pretty underrated.

March 13th

Easily the best LEGO game made so far, but also the best Lord of the Rings game. Still suffers from the terrible AI problems of the rest of the LEGO games, but it's a big improvement and a great game.

Beat all in one go :) I'm a cool guy. What a great game that was, my only nitpick would be that catching boos is quite tedious when they fly through walls eight times during the encounter, catching boos is optional, but still.

February 22nd

SUPER easy and SUPER short for a strategy RPG. But I guess it is Pokemon. This is a really good introduction to the genre and the ability to capture Pokemon and get other trainers and shit... I don't know, it's just all good.

Oh shit! There's unlockable stories!

I'm almost thinking this was harder than Aladdin, but it was really just a part at the end where I didn't realize what I was supposed to do and fought a ridiculous amount of enemies while I was supposed to be running.

That was an... interesting ending...

One of the best beat-em-ups for sure. If I weren't so nostalgic about Streets of Rage 2 this would probably be my favorite. Really great game, GOTTA PLAY IT.

Aladdin is way harder than I expected. Definitely the most difficult game I've beaten this year. Controls are super smooth and the game looks amazing, highly recommended.

This game was a lot more interesting than the 4th I think. Better vehicles, better bosses, this is a really good Metal Slug game.

This game's pretty good. Nice visuals and music, decent gameplay. At 1 hour and 12 minutes I beat this game faster than the average speedrun. ;D

I don't care that it's not 2013, it's close enough and I'm kind of proud of this.

This game has everything that I want in a game, great style and great music, fun, unique gameplay that doesn't get old (the game is only about 5 - 6 hours so it doesn't have a chance to get old), and a pretty interesting story that is clearly inspired by Evangelion, except seemingly toned down, almost kiddy.

Overall, a great experience. Definitely worth playing.
