Capcom vs SNK 2 EO - GameCube
I had a lot of fun with this fighter as a kid. My best friend and I were pretty much fighting game fanatics (him being majorly into SNK at the time) so it was a pretty great fit. I loved the first one, which I owned for Dreamcast. It's a shame that we haven't gotten CvsSNK 3 yet, but hell - we got Marvel 3 after a decade, hopefully this will happen too.
F-Zero GX - GameCube
Easily the best of the F-Zero series, this is one of the most intense games I've played in my life. It's a damn shame we haven't gotten a sequel yet. Hopefully for Wii-U?
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles - GameCube
Wasn't a huge fan of this one. It had charming characteristics but I didn't like certain aspects of the gameplay (like the bucket!) I suppose this game has its place in history, being Square's big return to Nintendo.
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker - GameCube
One of my absolute favorite games ever and perhaps my favorite Zelda game to boot. There was just something about Wind Waker's aesthetic that spoke to me, from the vast ocean, cel-shaded graphics, and the amazing music. I'd say the only thing it has going against it is the lack of dungeons, but I suppose that's made up by the vast amounts of secrets scattered across the sea. Hopefully we'll get some form of an HD upgrade someday. I also adored the ending - it was very bittersweet.
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures - GameCube
An excellent spin off for the series, reusing assets from A Link to the Past as well as brand new ones. I was expecting something weak but came out of it with a smile on my face.
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - GameCube
Honestly I've never played this version, we only got it because at the time my mom didn't want to play it using Wii controls. It would be interesting to play through someday, but I'm not holding my breath. Amazing game, however.
Luigi's Mansion - GameCube
Like many, this was my first Gamecube game which I received Christmas of 2001 alongside the system and Smash Bros Melee. Luigi's Mansion is a brilliant game from top to bottom. Glad we're finally getting a sequel via the 3DS.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! - GameCube
A pretty stellar Mario Kart. I have fond memories of playing through this game co-op with a buddy of mine, going all the away through to the Mirror Cup.
Mario Party 4 - GameCube
The last Mario Kart game I played, although I played it pretty frequently with a bunch of friends over the years. Still a fun as hell game to this day, although I'd say the N64 games are still the best.
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes - GameCube
Being that MGS2 is probably my favorite game of all time, I didn't mind that they added its control scheme to this remake. I don't consider it blasphemy like some people would, although there are some little changes I don't like. Still love the game though, made it hard to play through the original for some reason.
Metroid Prime - GameCube
The ultimate Gamecube game and probably my favorite game on the system. Unfortunately I've only played through it once back when it came out, but the game is a fuckin' revelation. It's not as good as Super Metroid, but it's pretty damn close. This - along with its sequels - warrants an HD Collection I think.
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes - GameCube
For some reason I had a hard as hell time getting into the sequel. It just didn't grab me like the first one did. Still I'd love to jump back into it again as surely I'd enjoy it much better now.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door - GameCube
How could you go wrong with Paper Mario? Okay add a "Super" in front of it and you might. The Thousand-Year Door however is a stellar game that, for some reason, I just never put as much time into it as I wanted to. I desperately get into it again though.
Pikmin - GameCube
Another game which I sadly never got into as much as I could have. I think if I was the age I am now when this came out, I would have given it a better shot. Pikmin is still a fantastic game however. Never played the sequel sadly, but I'm pretty excited for Pikmin 3.
Resident Evil - GameCube
A great REmake without a doubt. I wish Capcom would have remade RE2 and RE3 instead of just porting the PS1 versions :)
SoulCalibur II - GameCube
The best Soul Calibur game, no doubt about it! I absolutely adore this game and Link was an amazing guest character. It's a shame that the series continues to live in its shadow.
Star Fox Adventures - GameCube
Probably the best of the Star Fox spin-offs, although it boggles my mind why Nintendo never followed up with a proper sequel to Star Fox 64. This was almost like Rare's attempt to create a Zelda game of their own, although they didn't quite reach that height. That last Rare game I actually enjoyed though if that counts for anything.
Star Wars: Rogue Leader - Rogue Squadron II - GameCube
One of the best Star Wars games ever, and one of the best launch games period. The graphics still blow my mind to this day. Impressive, most impressive.
Star Wars: Rebel Strike - Rogue Squadron III - GameCube
Rebel Strike isn't nearly as good as Rogue Leader, but I had a lot of fun with it still. The on-foot levels are easily the worst aspects of this game, but the vehicle stuff is as good as it ever was. Shame this series never continued :(
Super Mario Sunshine - GameCube
The "black sheep" of Mario's 3D outings, but I have a huge soft spot for Mario Sunshine. I don't think that it's as good as Mario Galaxy, but if you had to make me choose between this or 64, I might just go with this. I loved the tropical theme of the game, mixed with some interesting levels and amazing water effects. I also loved (and dreaded) those challenge levels, which were brilliant in their own right.
Super Smash Bros. Melee - GameCube
Gosh, this and Luigi's Mansion were the first two games I got for the Gamecube back in Christmas of 2001. Melee is easily one of the best games I've ever played and my memories of this one are strong as all hell. Pretty much dominated me and my friends until Brawl came out 7 years later.
Tony Hawk's Underground 2 - GameCube
Used to be a huge Tony Hawk fan, but the last game I loved in the series was Pro Skater 3. To be honest I don't remember how I came into the possession of Underground 2 and I didn't really play it much.
Viewtiful Joe - GameCube
Definitely a hard ass game, but an excellent one at that. Viewtiful Joe was one of those games that existed in entirely it's own space - there was nothing quite like it. I never beat it unfortunately, nor did I play the sequel, but I'd be down if they ever returned to this franchise (sadly they probably won't) :(
