Capcom vs SNK 2 EO - GameCube

Anyone that's ever played a beat-'em-up will know the basic rules of the genre--hit your opponent until they fall down--but CvS2 adds a dojo of additional options that will keep fans happy for months. There are six different fighting styles (or grooves), a terribly complex ratio system for choosing a team of up to three fighters (although oddly there's no tag option), and a veritable feast of minor options and game modes.

Basically, if you like this sort of thing, you'll absolutely love Capcom vs SNK 2 EO--except that there's a rather big "but" coming up. As you may have noticed the GameCube's controller isn't really very well suited to this sort of game, and so Capcom have created a rather odd alternative control system that puts all the special moves within easy reach on the C-stick. Hardcore fans are likely to upchuck at the very thought, but it is relatively playable in a shallow Mortal Kombat kind of way. The normal six button control method is still included though, but it really only works if you can use a proper arcade-style joystick with it. --David Jenkins
