The movie that kicked it all off. The story spans ten years from 1945 to 1955. In 1945, we start off at the wedding of Don Vito's daughter and end after his death with his son Michael firmly in place as the new 'Don Corleone'.

Both a sequel and prequel to the first movie, it chronicles the rise of a young Vito Corleone to become 'Don Corleone' as well as the continuing story after the first film, following the further story of his son Michael, the new 'Don Corleone'. The movie cuts back and forth between the time periods providing a fascinating juxtaposition of their stories.

a.k.a. The Godfather Saga. A TV mini-series that combines the first film and the second film (along with more than an hour of extra footage) into one film playing in chronological order.

It starts with the story of a young boy, Vito, who is forced to flee to America in 1902 to escape death at the hands of the local Don. It chronicles the story of his rise to become 'Don Corleone' as well as his son, Michael's succession as the next 'Don Corleone'. It continues with Michael's attempt to legitimise the family business by making a move to Las Vegas and his several attempts to fight off his enemies.
