Clint Goodman has established a construction company and built a comfortable house in his hometown through hard work. He and his wife Joanna have been trying unsuccessfully to have a baby. Unknown to Clint, Joanna is having an affair with the local doctor Cort van Owen and the lovers plot to kill Clint, sell his house and company, then move to New York City.

Cort provides Joanna with poison and she spikes Clint's wine with it. Clint has a heart attack and is immediately buried without an autopsy in a cheap coffin. During the night, Clint wakes buried alive but he succeeds in escaping. He goes to his house and he finds out the truth about his wife and the doctor. Furthermore, he learns that Joanna was pregnant and Dr. Cort had conducted an abortion of his child. Clint plots a dark revenge against Joanna and Cort.

Awakening from the grave, she claws her way out and seeks revenge against the two who caused her supposed demise.
