Chainsaw Cheerleaders (2008)
Above is an image of a chainsaw. Below are the (in)famous uses of chainsaws and how they went from innocent woodcutting heavy-duty tools to frightening, torture weapons which have scared people of all age & sizes, through generations till now!
Lo behold! The 6 arguably most famous chainsaws ever!
Also known as 'Dark Of The Sun', this film was the most violent of its time that put Psycho back to the Medieval times! Due to it's violent scenes especially the nasty rape scene, this film was one of the first of the so-called 'Video Nasties' and arguably the first example to use a chainsaw as a murder device!
The Last House on the Left (1972)
Wes Craven is called 'The Godfather Of Suspense' and this film really proves it! Like the above, this was one of the first of the 'Video Nasties' but unlike the above, is considered one of the most important horror films ever made! It's also called 'The First Chainsaw Massacre', even though it's not!
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)
But, arguably the most infamous example is this film! It bought forward one of the most haunting villains in the history of cinema & the (mis)use of Chainsaws to which countless low-budget horror films would follow! Texas Chainsaw is based on a true real life story but everyone knows the details! Anyways, it's widely considered one of the best cult, most important & most influential horror films of all time & the specific Chainsaw used in this film is considered one of the most legendary despite the fact that no murders actually happen from this particular chainsaw... But anyways, it started an everlasting legacy that fails to stop!
Scarface (1983)
Chainsaws outside horror seems highly unlikely but Brian De Palma changed history & bought a chainsaw in his hit gangster flick, Scarface! In this film, a Colombian gangster dismembers another gangster for information!
Evil Dead II (1987)
However, this is the most CULTIEST chainsaw ever! I mean, it's unique because Ash Williams uses it to cut out his Evil hand and then later replace the stump with the above said Chainsaw & Hey Presto! Handsaw! Anyways, what makes it different from the others is that Ash uses it for good & hardly any violence occurs (If it does, it has a comical effect)... Anyways, this kinda softened down the stereotype that chainsaws are brutal devices but not completely!
American Psycho (2000)
After more than 10 years, finally a film came in which a chainsaw can be ranked in the same class as the above. In the film's most Infamous & shocking scene, Patrick Bateman drops a chainsaw from some 5th or 6th floor and it lands on the prostitute and... Well, since kids also log on to this site, i will cut out the details!
